I took out my sister and cousim for lunch at Utopia today and it took about 10 minutes for us to get any assistance. When we finally got a waitress, we ordered from the Sunday special as we assumed that it will be quicker since the food is already prepared. We ordered oxtail, pizza and a burger from the Sunday lunch special menus. After waiting for about 45 minutes, we inquired with our waitress and she said our food is on its way. After waiting for another 20 minutes, I stood up and inquired with the manager who informed me that it was the kitchens fault and I requested that the order be canceled as I was informed the oxtail was still being prepared and they had not started with the rest of our orders. She kept going up and down with other matters and didn render any apology for the delay. I requested for the bill for the drinks we had and that took some time as well. I am highly disappointed in how she handled the matter as she was did not apologize for the inconvenience of waiting over an out of our time nor did she offer any...
Read moreFresh n Wild has a cozy atmosphere and a solid menu, but the experience was a bit hit-or-miss. I had the bacon eggs Benedict, which had nicely cooked eggs but soggy bacon and it was drowned in hollandaise—just way too much sauce. The cappuccino was excellent: smooth, rich, and well-balanced. I also tried the Beetlejuice smoothie, and unfortunately, it tasted more like medicine than a refreshing juice, with a lingering aftertaste that wasn’t pleasant.
The biggest downside was the slow service. It took a while to get attention initially, and when a guest joined me mid-meal, no one came over to check on them or offer a menu. I had to flag the server down after about 12 minutes, which felt awkward and avoidable.
Overall, the food and coffee have potential, but the experience could be much better with more attentive service and a few tweaks to the menu. Not a bad place and would return!
Additionally I’d skip the Beetlejuice and maybe ask for light sauce on the...
Read moreI recently visited Fresh 'n Wild at Utopia for brunch and had a generally positive experience. When we arrived, we had the option to choose between indoor and outdoor seating. We decided to sit outside, and it turned out to be a fantastic decision. The garden atmosphere was very relaxing and provided a nice breather from the bustling city of Windhoek. The food we ordered was delicious and satisfying. The menu offered a variety of options, and everything we tried was tasty and well-prepared. Our waitress, Stacey, was also very friendly which added to the overall experience. It's worth mentioning they've got a curio shop if you're on the hunt for gifts, plus the safe off-street parking is a real convenience. Overall, I would recommend Fresh 'n Wild at Utopia as a great option for brunch. The food is tasty, the service is good, and the atmosphere...
