Extremely Disappointing Experience at Radisson Hotel, Lazimpat.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Radisson Hotel in Lazimpat, and I must say it was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I've ever had. Despite its reputation as a five-star establishment, my experience was far from five-star quality. From the very beginning, the service and policies were frustrating and disheartening.

Firstly, I was shocked to learn that the hotel does not allow visitors to enter the rooms. This policy was not clearly communicated during the booking process, and it caused significant inconvenience and embarrassment during my stay. I had a few friends and family members visiting me, and they were treated poorly by the hotel staff. The attitude towards my visitors was rude and unwelcoming, which made the situation even more uncomfortable.

The hotel staff seemed to be more interested in enforcing unnecessary and rigid protocols rather than providing a pleasant and accommodating experience for their guests. The lack of flexibility and the stringent enforcement of these policies made me feel more like I was in a highly restricted area rather than a hotel meant for relaxation and comfort. The way my visitors were treated was appalling and completely unacceptable for a hotel that claims to offer luxury and high standards.

I have stayed in numerous hotels around the world, and I can confidently say that this experience at Radisson Hotel, Lazimpat, was one of the worst. The entire atmosphere felt unwelcoming, and it was clear that guest satisfaction was not a priority for them. The rooms themselves were mediocre at best, certainly not reflective of the five-star status the hotel claims to have. The amenities were lackluster, and the overall ambiance was dull and uninspiring.

What was even more frustrating was that the hotel's management seemed completely indifferent to my concerns. When I raised the issue of my visitors being treated poorly and not being allowed to enter the room, the response was dismissive and unapologetic. It was clear that the hotel prioritizes its strict policies over the comfort and satisfaction of its guests.

I would strongly advise anyone considering staying at Radisson Hotel in Lazimpat to reconsider their choice. The hotel's overly rigid policies and the lack of genuine hospitality make it a poor choice for anyone looking for a comfortable and pleasant stay in Kathmandu. Instead, I highly recommend opting for other reputable hotels in the area, such as Kathmandu Marriott Hotel, Hyatt Palace, or Hyatt Regency. These hotels not only offer better amenities and service but also genuinely care about the comfort and satisfaction of their guests.

In conclusion, my experience at Radisson Hotel, Lazimpat, was incredibly disappointing, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The unnecessary policies, poor treatment of visitors, and lack of guest-centric service make it a subpar choice for accommodation. Save yourself the trouble and book a stay at a hotel that truly values its guests and provides the quality experience...

I recently stayed at the Radisson Hotel, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. One of the most frustrating aspects of my stay was the hotel’s strict policy against allowing visitors into guest rooms. This rule not only felt overly restrictive but also significantly diminished my overall experience.

When I checked in, I was excited about the prospect of spending time with friends who live in the area. However, I was quickly informed that visitors were not permitted in my room. This policy struck me as excessive and unwelcoming. In a hospitality setting, one would expect a certain level of trust and flexibility, especially in a hotel that positions itself as a premium option.

The implications of this policy were significant. Instead of enjoying a relaxed gathering in the comfort of my room, I was forced to meet my friends in public spaces, which were often crowded and noisy. This not only made conversations difficult but also detracted from the intimate experience I was hoping for. The atmosphere of the hotel felt more like a prison than a place of relaxation, which is the opposite of what a hotel stay should be.

Moreover, the staff's responses to inquiries about this policy felt dismissive. I understand that there may be reasons behind such rules, but the lack of flexibility or willingness to accommodate my needs was disheartening. A great hotel experience should involve attentive service that prioritizes guest satisfaction, but I found the staff more focused on enforcing rules than fostering a welcoming environment.

In addition to the visitor policy, I found the overall ambiance of the hotel to be lacking. The common areas, while decently maintained, did not exude the warmth or charm that one might expect from a well-regarded hotel. Instead of feeling like a home away from home, it felt sterile and uninviting.

Given my experience, I cannot recommend the Radisson Hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and accommodating stay. Instead, I suggest exploring other options that prioritize guest experience and offer a more flexible approach, where visitors can enjoy each other's company in a private setting.

In conclusion, my stay at the Radisson Hotel was overshadowed by their strict visitor policy and the overall lack of warmth. I will not be returning and would advise others to seek accommodations elsewhere. A hotel should enhance your travel experience, not hinder it, and unfortunately, Radisson failed in...

During my recent visit to Kathmandu, I had the pleasure of staying at the Redision Kathmandu, and it exceeded my expectations in numerous ways. Here’s a detailed review of my experience:

Location: 5/5 The Redision Kathmandu boasts a prime location, nestled in the heart of the city. It's conveniently close to major attractions like the Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Thamel, making it an ideal base for both sightseeing and business trips.

Rooms: 4.5/5 The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and designed with comfort in mind. My room featured modern decor, a comfortable bed, and a large window that offered a stunning view of the cityscape. The amenities, including the complimentary Wi-Fi, flat-screen TV, and mini-bar, were top-notch. Housekeeping maintained impeccable cleanliness throughout my stay.

Service: 5/5 The service at Redision Kathmandu is truly exceptional. The staff is friendly, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a pleasant stay. From the swift check-in process to the prompt room service, everything was handled with efficiency and a warm smile.

Dining: 4.5/5 The hotel’s dining options are varied and of high quality. The breakfast buffet was extensive, featuring both local and international cuisine, with fresh ingredients and a delightful array of choices. The on-site restaurant offered delicious meals, and the ambiance was perfect for a relaxing dinner after a day of exploring the city.

Facilities: 4/5 Redision Kathmandu provides a range of excellent facilities, including a well-equipped fitness center and a serene spa, which were perfect for unwinding. The outdoor pool was a refreshing escape, though it could benefit from a few more loungers during peak times. The conference facilities are also commendable, making it a great choice for business travelers.

Value for Money: 4.5/5 Considering the quality of service, amenities, and the prime location, the Redision Kathmandu offers great value for money. It strikes a good balance between luxury and affordability, making it accessible for a wide range of travelers.

Overall: 4.5/5 My stay at the Redision Kathmandu was a delightful experience. The combination of excellent service, comfortable accommodations, and prime location makes it a standout choice for anyone visiting Kathmandu. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in this...

Radisson Kathmandu is under renovation. Guests are housed in the smaller building and not the one pictured in the website. Furnishings and fitouts/fixtures inside are pretty old and beyond its service life/creaky (specially the coffee table) There is not much view to be appreciated from the rooms. Select the rooms facing the street in the front. Else, you will either find yourself looking into others buildings or have others looking at you. Restuarant (coffee shop) at 3rd floor serves some yummy food. Breakfast spread is good. Staff at the restuarant are very helpful and prompt. We changed from the back sided room that was facing a construction site to one facing the street in front. Surprisingly, one power socket, at a different location though, was not functioning in both the rooms. The SPA is good and the masseuse there really gives a good massage. The back massage i took gave immediate relief to my lower back pain (herniated disc problem) Pastry shop looked good. Though we did not try out the fare, the display and the choice provided was impressive. Bar at the lobby has a wide range of drinks, and manned well by the lady at the counter. The front desk boys and girls are doing a great job. Special thanks are due to Mr. Jivan and Ms Shila (with a little bit more extract for Ms. Shila for all the travel planning/booking she helped us with, which we cancelled because of a change to our schedule) for their enthusiasm and timely help and suggestions. They also organized some good transport for us to go around. Tip 1: Select the front street facing rooms. Tip 2: While booking rooms select the option that offers dinner. The options provided are very nice and generous. Tip 3: Take note of the happy hours window at the lobby bar in the evening, is you enjoy drinking. Tip 4: Do remember to have an universal travel adapter for charging your cell phones and electronic equipment. Ask the housekeeping/reception for an extension cord with multiple power sockets if you have multiple devices for charging.

An Unexpectedly Delightful Airport Experience! Who says waiting for a flight has to be a chore? The Radisson Lounge at Kathmandu's Tribhuwan International Airport consistently proves that it can be a highlight of any business trip. As a frequent traveler, I've had the pleasure of visiting this lounge multiple times, gaining access through both my Star Alliance membership and my Priority Pass, depending on my airline. Regardless of how I get in, each stay has been nothing short of fantastic. The entire team deserves a huge round of applause—they are always so polite, professional, and genuinely smiley. It's the kind of service that makes you feel welcome and relaxed, even when your mind is on your next meeting. A special and delicious shout-out must go to the incredible Chef Daniel Gomes from Goa! Today, his culinary creations were the absolute star of the show. Everything was so well-prepared and packed with flavor. The food was so good, I almost forgot I was in an airport lounge and not a five-star restaurant! And then came the "cherry on top" moment that I won't soon forget. Chef Daniel, with a great sense of humour and generosity, gifted me his very own toque blanche—a chef's hat! I'll be proudly hanging it in my kitchen as a reminder of the delicious food and the wonderful people I met. It's a souvenir far better than any duty-free trinket. Thank you to Chef Daniel and the entire Radisson Lounge team for making my layovers so memorable. You've truly set the gold standard for airport hospitality!

My wife and I stayed at the Radisson Kathmandu for eight nights, four either side of our trek in the Himalayas. We found the Radisson to be the perfect place to base ourselves to explore Kathmandu and the surrounding valley. The rooms are clean, well serviced, and comfortable. There is plenty of PowerPoints for changing and the hotel has top notch security. We found the showers especially enjoyable after 20 days of trekking. The staff are attentive and look after our needs. The highlight is the fun cafe, where the morning complimentary breakfast is served. The range of foods on offer and service are both extraordinary. The breakfast caters to a range of palates including European, Indian, and Asian. From made to order omelet’s to masala dosas patrons can create a breakfast unique to their own tastes. The quality and freshness of the food is matched by the attention of the staff. Supriya and Anu looked after our every need from fresh coffee to refreshed cutlery. The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of Kathmandu, a stone’s through from the former palace and less that 1 km walk to Thale. The security is high, and patrons are well looked after. The Radisson Kathmandu is the perfect place to base yourself to get familiar with the city, and to relax after your Himalayan expedition. I highly recommend.
