Our family recently visited this restaurant after rain disrupted our visit to Whoopee Land. Traveling with our 3.5-month-old son, we were hesitant about swimming, and with little else to do, we sought a welcoming alternative for a midday meal. This place exceeded our expectations in every way.

From the moment we arrived, the ambiance enveloped us in warmth and tradition. The spacious venue, beautifully adorned with cultural and traditional elements, reflected the owners' and staff's dedication to creating an inviting atmosphere. Our 7-year-old daughter, who often finds travel unexciting, was immediately captivated. She made friends, explored every corner, and enjoyed a safe, vehicle-free environment that allowed us to relax without worry.

The availability of a chakati enabled us to create a comfortable space for our infant son to rest, making our midday-to-evening experience truly unforgettable. The food was delightful. While the menu offered many tempting options, we were disappointed that some items, like my wife’s favorite sapumicha, were unavailable. Ensuring all menu items are consistently available could elevate the experience further.

The service was generally prompt, with orders arriving quickly, though the momos took longer than expected. At times, it was challenging to locate servers, despite each station appearing to have an assigned staff member. This wasn’t a significant issue for us, as we had time to enjoy the ambiance, but it’s an area for potential improvement to enhance efficiency.

What truly set this experience apart was the restaurant’s integrity. After an initial payment error led to a double charge, I was unaware of the mistake until the restaurant contacted me the next day to inform me of the overpayment. This act of honesty and care left a lasting impression and is a testament to their commitment to their customers.

Overall, this restaurant offers a remarkable blend of great food, affordable prices, a vibrant cultural atmosphere, and exceptional hospitality. It’s a beautiful gem that we highly recommend to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience. We look forward...

A dining experience at this Newari restaurant in Kathmandu proves to be a mixed bag for patrons. While some laud the establishment for its slightly above-average food, the real star of the show seems to be the enchanting ambience and lit atmosphere, drawing patrons back multiple times. The restaurant is hailed as a cultural haven, successfully showcasing Newari traditions through its decor and culinary offerings. Highlights on the menu include the mixed bara, Chatamari, Chhoyla, and Yomari, described as the best by enthusiastic diners.

For those seeking an authentic Newari experience, this spot in Kirtipur comes highly recommended. The restaurant's enormous space, lovely ambience, and efficient service contribute to its appeal. On the flip side, a dissenting opinion warns of disappointment, emphasizing the need for improved food quality given the higher pricing. Despite varying reviews, the consensus leans toward the positive, dubbing it a must-visit to embrace Newari culture and food heritage.

The allure of this venue extends beyond culinary delights, as it boasts an indigenous Newari architectural style. Situated slightly away from the city, the building's narrow, rectangular shape, exposed brick, intricate wooden carvings, and tiled roof exude history and antiquity. Whether you find it to be a complete disaster or an unbeatable experience, this restaurant remains a focal point for those craving a taste of authentic Newari cuisine amidst a captivating...

This is a crazy place you must visit at least once! The ambience is amazing, you get the newari village feels. The staff are dressed in traditional newari dish. Becareful, it is crowded during the evening time of weekends, but that makes the ambience even better. Its amazing how they can still manage orders with so many people they can accommodate. You have to sit on the floor, i dont remember seeing any table and chairs, typical newari feel. On the weekends, its difficult to find a place to sit, we had to wait for about 10 mins until a group left, but once you are seated the service is suprisingly fast. Being a newar myself, i have no complaints about the food, everything is authentic and tastes good. Again, since this place is usually crowded, I have no doubt about the freshness of the food they serve. They have an interesting bamboo hookah. This place is perfect for gatherings and drinking alcohol. There is a band that plays during the evening and a big courtyard where everyone can dance, its even fun to watch. They have tried to keep the bathroom clean, but not when it gets over crowded. They have a decent parking space. I am really suprised how they manage the orders of such a big crowd (at least they did not mess up our order, but i cannot guarantee you that wont happend during the peak hours). Not a place if you are looking for a peaceful place. You have to visit here with friends and family, try the local rakshi and dance!
