A Culinary Gem in Sanepa: Urban Press / Spice

Nestled amidst the vibrant neighborhoods of Sanepa, Kopundole, and Jhamsikhel, Urban Press / Spice has undoubtedly secured its place as a standout dining destination. Since its inception in 2020, this establishment has consistently delivered an exceptional culinary experience, earning a reputation for excellence in breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a delightful variety of drinks.

The journey begins with breakfast—a true highlight at Urban Press / Spice. The menu boasts an array of options, from classic favorites like fluffy pancakes and perfectly poached eggs to inventive creations like avocado toast with a Nepali twist. Each dish is impeccably prepared, setting a high standard for the day ahead.

Moving into lunch and dinner, the restaurant continues to shine. The menu features a diverse selection, catering to various palates and preferences. Whether you're in the mood for comforting pasta dishes, flavorful stir-fries, Indian delights or indulgent burgers, Urban Press / Spice delivers with finesse. Vegetarian and vegan options are also there, ensuring everyone finds something to relish.

The beverage offerings further elevate the dining experience. From freshly brewed coffee to refreshing mocktails and signature cocktails, there's a drink for every occasion and mood. The baristas and mixologists demonstrate a keen eye for detail, crafting beverages that perfectly complement the culinary offerings.

What truly sets Urban Press / Spice apart, however, is its service. The staff members are not only attentive but also genuinely friendly, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Whether you're a regular patron or a first-time visitor, you're welcomed with open arms and treated with utmost care—a testament to the restaurant's commitment to hospitality.

Convenience is another notable feature, with ample parking space available—a rarity in the bustling neighborhoods of Sanepa, Kopundole, and Jhamsikhel. This thoughtful provision ensures that diners can focus on enjoying their meal without the stress of parking woes.

In summary, Urban Press / Spice has undeniably carved a niche for itself as one of the best dining establishments in the area. From its inception in 2020 to the present day, it has consistently raised the bar for culinary excellence. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, accompanied by a delightful beverage, you're in for a treat. With its exceptional food, attentive service, and convenient amenities, Urban Press / Spice is poised to remain a beloved culinary gem for...

A friend wanted to meet here ... and so it goes. The staff was friendly enough, I especially liked the server. She was a good communicator and made sure that she understood the order. This is rare.

I got the "tempura" mushroom burger, my friend got the chicken ravioli. Mushroom burger was unspectacular - not really tempura, soggy fried mushroom, not crispy, cheese was bland. It also tasted as if the oil was either old and had been used for too long, or burnt. The flavor on the ravioli was decent, but the pasta was way overcooked. After a beer and a sandwich I spent about 1200 rupees ... the beer was warm. I would have rather gone to Chez Caroline and gotten high quality food for the same price. Ambiance was the typical cheap contemporary that you see here in Nepal.

Very average and not the best value. I'd be interested to try the smoothie bowls, something that has continued to prove elusive in this...

On Christmas Eve, I dined with my family at this restaurant. While the food was lovely, the service was disappointing.

We ordered a half bottle of whiskey priced at rs2,500, but the waiter suggested an alternative, which turned out to cost rs9,500, almost four times more. the house wine we ordered at rs2,500 was replaced with a bottle over rs1,000 more expensive. They even interrupted our dinner twice to photograph the wine bottle, which felt odd and unprofessional.

We were finishing the last of our whiskey around 9:30 PM when the waiter abruptly took our drinks away. We didn’t cause any fuss during our visit, but it felt like they were trying to get rid of us quickly for no reason.

The lack of transparency and courtesy ruined the experience. As much as we enjoyed the food, we will have to think twice before coming to...

I ordered takeaway from here and had quite a lot of expectations based on the reviews I read. The food was okay but not wow and definitely did not feel like it was worth the price I paid. For example, the sandwich bread felt store bought and not made there/rustic. All in all, the food ft just average and without any niche appeal. The only thing I would go back for/order again is the falafel salad which felt well balanced in terms of seasoning and condiments, substantial and fresh. Perhaps if I dined in, the prices would make more sense for the ambience and service. But I couldn't help compare the price point to places in and around Jhamsikhel which provide more value for money without compromising taste.
