Driftwood Boat Bar — Restaurant in Île des Terres Basses

What a fun place sitting around the boat bar, listening to loud music and watching the planes arrive and depart from Princess Juliana airport. This outdoor space right by the runway is usually loud with a lot of people partying, which makes it a lot of fun and very welcoming to both locals and visitors.

We visit this place often because the prices are really good. They make great cocktails the best rum punch on the island with multiple Rums and the food is good.

They make pizzas, burgers, Shawarma and Caribbean food . Their lamb Shawarma is excellent as are their ribs and fish dishes.

They had the same girls serving and making the drinks for many years. It’s nice to return to a place where they know your face. If you’re ever in Sint Maarten this is a massive visit. What a find! Smaller bar on Maho Beach where the planes fly right over your head. Both locals and tourists come here for food, fun and drinks. Not nearly as commercial as it’s competitors across the beach and much lower prices. The food is excellent including the jerk chicken skewers and the pizza that is known across the island. The rum punch is made to order with multiple rums and the frozen drinks feature fresh fruit I watched being cut. The bartenders are friendly and have been there for years. Little to no parking but an easy walk from local hotels or a cheap taxi ride from most anywhere on the Dutch side. Also great music at night with a local playing music and taking requests. This is a 10+ Place!!! Unreal on all levels!!! Decor is awesome. The boat bar is super cool. Chairs are amazing. Music is beach island happy genre! The pizza was just like Big Dan told me - Best Around!!! Seriously one of the best we’ve had. Crispy crust cooked to perfection. Oil pepper sauce is unique and a good addition. Beer is cold. Pina Coladas (regular, mango and banana) were so freak’in good. Best view is plans landing over Maho Beach. Patrons and staff were so friendly and kind. You will feel right at home.
