3 Amigos — Restaurant in Île des Terres Basses

My sister and I took a walk from our resort and visited some shops along the strip. Eventually we came to 3 Amigos, the drinks were great! I ordered a Cadillac margarita which I highly recommend. The food and customer service however, was a different story and this is where my issue stems. I ordered taquitos, chicken was the protein, the chicken was dry and overcooked with burnt perimeters. I mentioned this to Kesha our waitress and was immediately met with resentment. Instead of initially apologizing for the issue, I was told the taquitos are deep fried, this was the explanation for the texture of the chicken. I rebutted that I have had taquitos in the past and never experienced this issue. Since it appeared that I wouldn’t be able to have properly cooked taquitos, I requested to have the taquitos taken off of my bill. Kesha brought over another waitress and again, the same sentiments were emphasized. Needless to say, the taquitos were removed from my bill however, I was short changed; when this was mentioned to Kesha she replied “20 cents? That’s an insult”! Then proceeded to walk off and give me her back. If the cash drawer was short no matter how small, it would be an issue therefore, she should not feel entitled to my change no matter how small, in doing so, she missed the additional tip I was prepared to pay on-top of the gratuity that was already charged. I went to this place twice first time just to grab a beer we served my a young lady very attentive and prompt. THE SECOND TIME WAS TERRIBLE. We had a guy that I think is the bartender serving us we sat down he looked at us continued to text no hello no menus we got up and got our own…. He came we asked for 2 cups of ice he said no he could only give us bottled water. We ordered shredded chicken nachos they were dry no nacho cheese just shredded cheese with dry chicken the menu states you get both. I asked the waiter this he said it’s the same. let’s be honest we all know nacho cheese and shredded cheddar that goes on tacos is different he wanted to argue that there is no different. we asked for nacho cheese on the side he came back to the table with it still attempting to argue and said “just to let you know nacho cheese is the same as shredded cheese”. At that point we were all ready to leave I’ve seen him promptly service other customers but as a woman of color all I received was attitude from him and the other guest in my party agreed. Went to 3 Amigos on a Tuesday night. My friend was sitting at table and server was upset she sat at table and was complaining to staff member who cleaned table The seat was wet so we decided to wait for a different table While waiting a table was available and staff member put her palm out to my friend and said wait While we were waiting another group came and asked if a table was available and they were told yes and chairs were pulled from table we were going to sit at for them We continued to wait for another 30 minutes I asked why others who came after us were seated first and was told it was a smaller party but chairs were now not available because they were taken from table where we were going to sit For whatever reason we were obviously ignored I understand they don’t need our business as they get a lot at this restaurant in St. Maarten but very disappointed in treatment we received If anyone cares By the way we had eaten at 3 Amigos the 2nd day of our vacation and really enjoyed the food and wanted to go back before we left the island a second time Unfortunately staff is not very kind and...
