Sweet Delights Amidst Rainy Days: Sweets and Antiques Review

On a rainy day in Alkmaar, Netherlands, we stumbled upon the cozy haven of Sweets and Antiques, and what a delightful discovery it was! From the moment we stepped inside, we were enveloped in warmth and charm, making us forget all about the dreary weather outside.

The stellar service at Sweets and Antiques deserves a standing ovation. As soon as we entered, we were greeted with smiles and a warm welcome. The displays of delectable treats were like a feast for the eyes, showcasing an array of freshly baked pies, cookies, and cakes that beckoned us to indulge.

The pastry selection was nothing short of heavenly. Each bite was a burst of flavor, leaving us craving for more. From the flaky crust of the pies to the melt-in-your-mouth cookies, every treat was a testament to the skill and passion of the bakers.

But it wasn't just the food that impressed us; the fun decor added to the overall experience. As we savored our treats, we couldn't help but admire the quirky antiques and charming knick-knacks that adorned the walls. It was like taking a step back in time while enjoying modern culinary delights.

As if the ambiance and treats weren't enough, Sweets and Antiques also offered a glimpse into history with fun facts scattered throughout the establishment. From anecdotes about the origin of pastries to tidbits about the building's storied past, every detail added to the enchantment of the place.

In conclusion, our experience at Sweets and Antiques was a true delight. Amidst the rain and gloom outside, we found solace in the cozy atmosphere, delectable treats, and friendly service. It's a place we'll definitely be returning to,...

One of the oldest buildings in Alkmaar. It’s very narrow but is 15m long, extended throughout a few ‘chambers’. Beautiful inside, very old (therefore the name “antique”, which fits really well!) and with a great vibe; the owner/employees make it very inviting.

There are a few tables with seats and they are all unique. They also sell all sorts of sweets and cheese and other foods.

We ordered a delicious latte, some homemade dadel (date) & coconut bits + a fresh portion of traditional Dutch poffertjes! Worth the money (not too expensive either).

Check out the pictures for a taste of the place (pun intended). Totally...

Amazing place, the decoration is so unique and cosy. The desserts are so fresh, I have tried the apple pie , the apple pie with cherry, the waffle and the brownie. There are all so fresh and so balanced tastes. I also tried the sweets that sell on the front of the store the ones with date, biscuit and coconut. Those are also amazing and not super sweet, very balanced taste. The apple pie costs 9 euros and you can also order half of it, the waffle is 8.25 euros and the brownie 4.50 euros. The package of the sweets is...
