Thup's pizza- en wijnbar — Restaurant in Alkmaar

Bereits am Vortag ist uns Thup’s Pizza- en Wijnbar mit seinen auffälligen blauen Bänken im Außenbereich ins Auge gefallen. Heute – auf der Suche nach einer Pizzeria – haben wir uns "zufällig" genau für diesen Laden entschieden. Und es war ein Volltreffer!

Beim Ankommen gab es eine kurze, sympathische Einführung: Bier und andere Getränke nimmt man sich selbst aus den Kühlschränken – ganz unkompliziert. Aufgrund der großen und wechselnden Auswahl kennen die Mitarbeitenden nicht jedes Getränk im Detail – das ist völlig in Ordnung und trägt zur entspannten Atmosphäre bei. Auf Wunsch gibt es eine Weinkarte, die wir aber nicht genutzt haben.

Der Laden selbst hat einen wilden, stilvollen Look – eine Mischung aus fancy und gemütlich. Die Pizzen waren absolut top: Geschmack, Teig, Tomatensauce und hochwertige Beläge – alles auf den Punkt. Wer gute Pizza liebt und bereit ist, dafür etwas mehr zu zahlen, wird hier definitiv glücklich.

We noticed Thup’s Pizza- en Wijnbar the day before while walking through the city – the striking blue benches outside really caught our eye. Today, while looking for a pizzeria, we "coincidentally" ended up choosing this exact spot. And it was a hit!

We were greeted with a quick and friendly explanation: beers and other drinks are self-service from the fridges – easy and relaxed. Because of the large and frequently changing selection, the staff can’t know every drink by heart – which is totally fine and adds to the laid-back vibe. A wine list is available on request, though we didn’t use it.

The place itself has a wild yet stylish look – somewhere between fancy and cozy. The pizzas were excellent: great flavors, perfect dough, rich tomato sauce, and high-quality toppings. If you love great pizza and don’t mind paying a bit more for quality, this is the place to go.

Wow! Absolutely blown away by the quality of pizza. Although everything about my experience was top-notch, the #1 standout in particular was the dough. I am a pizza lover but do not typically eat the outer crust, ever, be it in New York or Rome, but in this case, I found myself devouring the entire thing purely on instinct! Later, I discovered the recipe behind Thups is very highly regarded as some of the best pizza on offer in Holland. Also, the atmosphere is super cool. looks unassuming from the outside but is a little gem on the inside! I love the green and gold of the decor and the pizza is absolutely to die for. The crust is thin and crispy, straight from the oven, which is a prominent feature in the restaurant! The drinks are self-serve and there's a nice selection of soft drinks, specialty beers, and wines. The service is friendly and personal and theres a few games to play while you wait. Will absolutely eat here again and recommend...
