ANNO — Restaurant in Almere

I know, first of; this is a 2 ⭐ hotel. And they have been upfront about the clubbing noise levels from their nightclub. ||Arrival & Check in|I got the room no 38. 3rd floor. Checking in is at the bar area. |They showed me the elevator and stairs to get there. Very efficient. ||The room|First thing I noticed after opening the door to my room: the smell. It smelled like a wet bathroom mat. Damp and musty. |The room itself is very, very, very Spartan. I mean a capuchin monk will have a field day.|The mattress is of a foam variety, which will ensure a tropical temperature and sweating when sleeping. Can't really fault it as it was kinda comfy. |The desk was integrated into the wall, and left in an industrial rustic condition. |The chair was something I hadn't laid eyes on since the early 1980's a timeless classic. |You get a kettle, cups and spoons, not on a tray, just bare on the table. |Hygiene wise really a concern.||Ensuite|Funky tiling, I really dig the black and mustard yellow square tiles, that is about it. The shower is a hit and (mostly) miss. Okay pressure, but you have to decide what temperature you want. Piping hot or freezing, the mixing taps do everything but. |There's a shampoo dispenser, not used it.|The toilet was working but only the big flush. You get clean towels every day.||The room amenities.. are.. eh.. some. |The TV didn't had signal, yes I tried the different sources. There are 3 outlets, all working. No bedside table, but a bed board shelf instead. ||Their WiFi is a good signal and fast.||There's no Aircon, or fan. But there is window and patio door to a small roof space.|That space was a surprise that was fortunate for me, but could be off putting, as the little open outdoor roof space where smoking is allowed (I guess, as there was a chair and ashtray) this is a very small space and when it is raining it is not covered. ||This may explain the dampness in this room. ||Sleeping or the lack thereof..|Anno is very clear about the fact that they are a nightclub on Friday and Saturday. Music will penetrate your room. |My experience: it starts at 11pm until 4am. I was 3 stories up. I could easily sing a long to Titanium (tune!). After a while it got a bit draining on my senses, though. I brought some ANC headphones which did a good job cancelling out the music, but not the bass. This vibrated through the building, slightly dampened by the foam mattress. 4 am it stopped. ||Breakfast|In the main area (dance floor?) there is a small buffet set up for guests. |Eggs, bread, juice, cheese, ham, cereals and hagelslag.
