Exceptionally good Ethiopian food. I’ve been a couple of times (it’s my birthday go-to spot), and each time we were blown away by the quality of the food and the friendly atmosphere of the restaurant and staff that make you feel right at home.

Yes, you do eat with your hands. They also provide plenty of napkins at the table in case that doesn’t go so well (or, in our case, bring children along).

Speaking of kids, they have a large tub of toys for children that they’re happy to bring out, if you’re with some young ones who get a little stir crazy.

In our most recent visit, we ordered doro wat, tebs, and then…I wasn’t sure what else I should order. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in recommending dishes that would work for everyone, and as a result our entire group — from my two-year-old daughter to my 78-year-old dad — had an amazing evening.

A couple of notes: There’s no English menu (but all staff speaks English, so just ask questions!), they’re often closed for a couple weeks in August for summer holidays, and they do take reservations (but from my experience, I don’t think they’re usually too busy — but both times we’ve shown up shortly after they...

We went on a Sunday evening and had an interesting experience. The host was very friendly, the place is not big but it was big enough..also very clean. We had to eat with our fingers so everybody had to wash our hands properly. The food took its proper time because it was prepared on the spot but I must warn everybody: It is really really SPICY HOT! Oh wow. This is a great restaurant. My wife and I have just had dinner here and we were blown away. We asked the owner to prepare a variety of things for us and surprise us. What we got was amazing. Such rich and varied flavours, multiple sorts of meat coupled with vegetarian things, it was just amazing. The owner took time to explain everything to us and the whole experience was so friendly, so hospitable, just great.
