La Base — Restaurant in Amersfoort

Pizzas are delicious, however, the service is horrible. We ordered pizzas via Thuisbezorgd and one of the pizzas was completely wrong (with ingredients like cheese that my partner is allergic for and even smaller than what we paid for). We tried to call, however, all the calls ended with the operator saying that the phone number is currently unavailable AFTER it rang for a while as if they turned off the phone (their website stated that they were open). I went back to Thuisbezorgd and they closed the restaurant there, delayed the opening time for TODAY to 20:00. It is a pity because we enjoyed the pizzas before.

Always good to stop by here, if you are looking for traditional neapolitan pizza, this is the place. All the classics are here and all the options are what should be expected. Their wine selection is not long but all of them are great choices. Consider getting the aperitivo misto as a starter as it has a great selection of cuts as well as preserved olives which are delicious. The decoration of the restaurant is simple yet elegant. The location is unbeatable being so close to the city center and with views to the canal. The staff was very professional and always ready to help. Definitely one of the best pizza places...

The pizza was really good, especially if you’re into dough-forward style – you can definitely taste the quality. The food came out really fast and the service was really friendly – there is nothing to criticize about it except for the fact that she didn’t understand which kind of water we wanted and brought us a different one. The only downside for me was that the toppings in the Calzone weren’t spread evenly. Also, I found the prices quite high overall. The Tiramisu in particular felt way too expensive (8 €) for the small portion.
