I experienced a likely good/great restaurant that was ruined by an obnoxious server.
I only caught the name of the server who showed my group to our table. Her name is Jen and she was a very friendly person. Not only in my interaction, but also a gentlemen seated at the bar.
Food: French Onion Soup - Underwhelming. I'm pretty sure it is canned and they use the small dehydrated onions. It was just disappointing.
Jalapeño Poppers - No complaints.
Spaghetti Bolognese - Delicious!
Argentinean Burger - And here is the problem. When I ordered the burger I didn't say, nor was I asked, what cook temp I prefer. That's my bad but I also enjoy anything from medium-rare to medium-well. The burger came to the table and looked absolutely awesome. The first bite was excellent. The flavors were spot on and the cook temp seemed right. I lifted the burger for bite 2 and that's when I noticed the bottom bun had some blood soaked in. Not an issue. On the second bite I noticed the middle looked too red. At that point I cut the burger in half and the entire middle was raw. I didn't want a raw burger so I flagged down a server that I thought would help.
She acknowledged that the burger was raw and began to lift the plate from the table. As she was taking the plate she reminded me that the menu says all burgers are served medium-rare. That was a moot point because she knew it was raw, not medium-rare.
As she walked away I was left uncertain as to whether the burger was going to be remade or if it would be taken off the bill. When I called her back to ask, she started telling me that they would not do either because "I ate half the burger". Her exaggeration of how much I ate was insulting and an obvious tactic to get out of being responsible for the error. I asked her if she would have eaten the burger and her reply was "I wouldn't because I'm pregnant". That's when I knew she was being nothing more than ornery and I decided to go about...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Deyacos Restaurant & Bar in Amsterdam, and I was very impressed. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the Argentinian burger with truffle and parmesan fries, and my partner ordered the honey mustard chicken burger and fries. Both burgers were cooked perfectly, and the fries were crispy and flavorful. The truffle and parmesan fries were a great addition to the Argentinian burger, and the honey mustard sauce on the chicken burger was perfectly sweet and tangy.
Deyacos also has a very cool atmosphere. The restaurant is decorated in a hip, neon-lit style, and there's a lively atmosphere.
The service was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed. He was also very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to make helpful recommendations.

The value for money was excellent. The burgers were large and filling, and the fries were a generous portion. The prices were also very reasonable.
Overall, I had a wonderful dining experience at Deyacos Restaurant & Bar. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in Amsterdam.

Read moreWent with my son for dinner and drinks. Starters were calamari and onion rings. Calamari was delicious and crispy (sauce VERY good), but only 5 rings? The portion size was not worth the price. Onion rings were not homemade (frozen), but, they were served hot and the portion was generous.
Our mains were the sirloin steak (300g) and the Argentinean burger. The quality of the steak was fantastic and cooked perfectly (did not come with butter, absolute must with steak of that thickness). The burger was huge and exploding with flavors and I absolutely loved it. The presentation was fantastic.
My only point of critique was the service. The Asian ladies sitting beside us had dirty dishes on their table for the ENTIRE duration of our meal. They were brought wine refills and the waiters who passed by frequently, didn't even bother to remove them. The ladies literally sat all evening with a pile of dirty dishes in front of them. Not professional whatsoever.
In closing, the restaurant is beautiful and the food quality is simply top notch and excellent. The service is friendly, but in some aspects very amateurish and needs to be improved. But, I won't bash this restaurant on this detail and assume it was an oversight.
