HOTEL ANCO — Hotel in Amsterdam

The hospitality we experienced at Anco hotel was probably the best I've ever had, anywhere.|The host was super nice and we instantly felt welcome the second we stepped through the door.|The relationship between the staff seems like they are one big, happy family, all working together. |You could really feel that vibe in the hotel, which we absolutely loved.|Our room was already done and we were able to check in even though we arrived 2 hrs before the regular check-in time.|The location is more than great, because it's based right in the city center/red light district. |even though there was quite a lot going on, the room was quiet and also really comfortable.|Everything was perfectly clean and even the shared bathroom didn't bother us at all.|On our last day we decided to stay for an extra-night, which was also no problem at all!|We were able to keep the room we were staying in, and also were allowed to keep the room as long as we wanted into the day.|In the end we had a lovely time in the Anco hotel with all of the staff and we won't have to find a place to stay for our next trip, because we know EXCACTLY where we'll be...

I rented a room through AirBnb. Great location. Just a few minutes walk from Amsterdam Central Station and right on the canal. My room had a canal view and you could see the oldest church in the city across the way. Room was clean and sufficient for myself. Shared bathroom and shower, but you have a sink in your room so there were no conflicts with other guests. The climb to the room is quite steep. Please make note if you have a physical disablilty as it can be challenging, but I think most places in the city center have similar arrangements. You really can't beat the location. About 30 minute stroll to the Rijsmuseum and De Gooyer Windmill. Of course you can rent a bike, but I would rather go skydiving than risk making my way through pedestrian traffic when the streets are crowded. Breakfast is included! Major awesome point. Medium boiled eggs, yogurt, cereal, tomatos, bread, OJ, milk, and they will make you a toastie if you'd like. (Typically ham and cheese toasted on some bread. I got just cheese and spread an egg on it. Quite yummy) Great way to start off your day of soaking...

I was in a bind with a cancelled flight. I called the Anco very late, and they more than accomodated me! GREAT customer service, Carl the owner is a real gem! They saved me from having to sleep, or not, at the airport due to bad customer service from the airline that left it on me to find a place to stay due to cancelled flight! I wasn't sure if my flight was going to go the following day, and Carl assured me when I left, there would be a room for me the second night if needed-he put a room on hold for me-I cannot express my thanks enough for this wonderful gensture in my desperate need of a hotel. I had stayed at this property 10 years ago, and thoroughlly enjoyed the hospitality and accomodations! It's in a great location, super clean, and breakfast is included!
