Het Plantsoen — Restaurant in Amsterdam

“Het Plantsoen” is one of those places you walk past a dozen times — until one day you walk in. A hidden spot with a relaxed vibe and solid food. The atmosphere is calm, easygoing, just genuinely nice.

Service is friendly, helpful, they check in every once in a while. There is a terrace outside. If you catch it on a sunny day, it adds a nice extra touch to the overall experience.

I had the chicken saté, which came with atjar, prawn crackers, and fries. Comfort food done right! The saté was tender, the sauce had just enough kick, and everything on the plate made sense. No overcomplications, just solid flavors and generous portions.

All in all: low-key spot, good food, good service. I’d definitely come back...

The bar is nice, with reasonably priced drinks for Amsterdam. But what I really want to talk about is the samba they have there! The first time, I went there to have a drink and there was the samba, but the second time, I actually bought tickets! The band is really good, playing samba and pagode for all tastes. It was amazing! The event happens once a month. It’s called Samba Roots, and ir happens...

The cafe is under new management, and you can really notice the difference.

Good coffee, fresh food and friendly service make it worth your while to stop by for a quick bite after a swim. It's a spacious venue, with lots of comfy couches & high ceilings.
