Used to be a nice spot for just a coffee or so. Unfortunately last week was a drama. Passed by for a quick cup of tea and a tosti, how easy and simple is that?
They served the tea quickly, however it took without exaggerating 25 min. to get the tosti, uh not!! Because we were already waiting so long, we were looking if the kitchen was preparing it. Well, the tosti was ready and waiting on the counter for the waitress (while the kitchen and bar staff were not extremely busy!). So I picked it up myself, but noticed it was not hot anymore, with running cheese in the middle. I mentioned it, however the kitchen lady said it was fine. Really, are you getting into a discussion with a customer? Anyhow they made a new one.
The new tosti was ready in two minutes, indeed too quick. Result: no running cheese and not crispy bread. On top of it, they blamed the waitress. Towards us no excuse or what so ever, and we had to pay € 5.50 for this simple thing. Not made with rustic bread or cheese, just simple cheap bread from the supermarket with cheap cheese. Doesn't match with the rest of the menu items.
Conclusion; a definite NO NO,...
Read moreWe ate here on our first morning after staying at the Linden Hotel directly across the street, and we came back every day (3 times) because it was so good and easy! I ordered their cappuccino every time which was perfect. Then my husband, sister, brother-in-law, and I ordered various versions of their eggs on toast with avocado, smoked salmon, or “farmer’s ham” (what Americans just call bacon). Every time we ordered, the food was delicious! We love the spices/herbs they put on top of the poached eggs, the fact that they use just the right amount of hollandaise, the fresh side salad, and the flavorful meats. My husband is from Alaska, so he knows his salmon, and he said their smoked salmon was very good and “amazing.” I ordered the mango and banana smoothie on our last day which was very refreshing. Would definitely recommend! Also the service was great, and they even began to...
Read moreCoffee and food were nice. I had to wait approx. 50 min for an open sandwich and after asking if the chef has started the sandwich I got an answer with attitude by the barista: “look around. It’s busy!” The waitress assured me: “it’s definitely coming.” (When we walked in the complete upstairs area was empty.) Then I tried cancelling my order and couldn’t answer me if he has started it or not. So waiting again. Since my friend already finished his breakfast roughly 30 min before I even got mine, we wanted to get going, he went again and they gave me someone else’s sandwich, because they didn’t start making it after asking the 2nd time.
Even customers are aware that a cafe can be busy and too much to handle for one chef, but it would’ve been nice to leave me the option if I want to wait longer or not or giving me no answer to my question. No next time, nor...
