I traveled all the way from Enschede to try this place, thatâs how serious i take my hummus! Read on.
They offer sharing menus which is a great way to try multiple dishes and find favorites. We tried the carnivore sharing menu which i initially worried wasnât enough for 3 persons but for moderate eaters, we were struggling to finish our plates. We ate beyond our stomachs and it was worth it.
The superstar dishes that stood out:
1.Fatteh aubergine: the bread was perfectly crisp and the sauce was deliciously tangy. Highly recommended. And Iâm excited to try the other fatteh variety
Kibbeh: my grandmother is from Aleppo so i KNOW good kibbeh and this was right there. The sauce it was served on was fantastic.
Tabbouleh: just like it should be, seasoned to perfection.
The hummus with meat had great meat but the hummus itself needed some more salt and lemon, perhaps that wouldâve been helped by the pickles which they sadly for us were out of at the time of our visit.
We also got Knafeh which was very very good. A must try specially if you want to know what real knafeh should taste like in a world filled with inferior knafeh!
I did see a lot of people commenting on the prices which i understand might seem relatively high however, for this level of quality, it wasnât. I only wish the bread was made in house or kept in a closed vessel or a cotton bag instead of a basket so it wouldnât dry out.
Overall, we had a great meal and we will be coming back...
Read morePlace is super cozy inside and nice staffâbut wow if only the food was as good. Was really excited to see a new addition to the neighborhood, especially a Syrian Resturaunt. The food was incredibly disappointing. I knew while I was ordering that it is a bit pricer than other places but thought to myself, if itâs good- then itâs worth it.
Unfortunately not the case. Babaganoush; barely taste the eggplant. Looks and tastes super unappetizing. Idk even what they put in it but def doesnât taste like eggplant, with a massive gallop of olive oil on the top. Kind of looks like đ¤Ž
Hummus and meat: I loveeee hummus- but this by far I think is one of the worst in town. The meat some how tastes sweet? Can be maybe pomegranate molasses? But absolutely no spice, no soul in it. It literally tastes like low quality fried ground beef with hummus.
Pita: thereâs no way itâs been done fresh⌠super stale.. Perhaps it wasnât stored properly on site?
Really hope I caught them in a bad day, but really disappointed.
** I think itâs important to note the staff are very friendly and this Resturaunt does have an amazing social cause! This review is purely...
Read moreAlright this is my honest review, letâs start with the positives: very friendly staff - great atmosphere and vibes.
-The negatives : Food was average, very overpriced with what you get.
We ordered hummus with meat, the hummus is the same one you can get from albert heijn and very tiny pieces of meat for 22 euros!
The hot potatoes were nearly 10 pieces for 15 euros , they tasted good though.
arayes were not good, I already know how they should taste and this was a below average one.
So for a hot potatoes, hummus with very little meat and arayes, we paid nearly 70 euros.
If I paid like 30 euros for the whole experience, I would have said that it is worth the price but this is way overpriced for an average quality food.
the guys were very nice though and welcoming. So I would rate 2 stars because I mainly came for the food and it was a bit disappointing to me. I always ask myself a question when i finish eating at a new restaurant , would i want to repeat this experience again ? and unfortunately the...
