Made a reservation for a fam of 7 on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant called back to make sure of our details. We were sat down right away & were warmly welcomed as well. We started off w/ some appetizers & drinks. Chicken samosas were the best to begin with along w/ some onion bahjee which were also very tasty. Dal soup was the perfect balance for all the main dishes. We ordered around 8 main dishes w/ sides of butter naan, garlic naan & paratha. Wait time was around 30 mins which is very reasonable & it’s to be expected as they prepare all dishes to order. We were occupied with enjoying the cozy interior. All the dishes were served at the same time & it was so worth the wait. Everything came well presented with perfect portions. Rice was so fragrant, all the naan were very fresh & fluffy & the garlic naan was full of flavour & was garlicky in the best way. With the amount of dishes, the portion sizes were perfect to share among 7 people. I ordered the chicken tikka balti for myself & it was heavenly. All the marinated spices weren’t too overpowering & sauce is a good amount for everyone to try & dip in. Everyone loved their own lamb & chicken dishes & we kept ordering more naan & paratha to finish them off. Chai was also very refreshing. You can adjust the sugar by yourself. Indian beer Cobra was also a good light beverage. We were so full afterwards but made sure to order desserts. I personally requested in advance for something along with the dessert cause we were celebrating my dad’s birthday. They were very nice about it & agreed right away. We ordered kulfi, kheer, ras malai & patiala along with some mango lassi. Needless to say everything was great. Nothing was too sweet & kheer was so savoury & authentic. We even ordered more ras malai by popular demand. Mango lassi came in a big glass. Tasty & for money’s worth! Overall, for a Burmese family who grew up eating good indian food, this place was the right choice for us. Flavours were very nostalgic. Service was beyond amazing & all our needs were met very easily. We left the restaurant...

Read moreI have been a regular visitor at Swagat. I never write reviews too soon. I feel its about time to payback for what's been a wonderful culinary experience with Swagat. Today I met the top-chef - Vineet who to my surprise happens to be a Musical genius on Classical Indian besides being a Chef at some of the best Michelin class (5-star) restaurants worldwide. He made us the best Saag Paneer I had "ever" tasted - brilliant in taste and knew exactly how to balance the bitter-sweetness of the spinach leaf (not easy trust me - I have tried it). Some of the best Mutton Kebabs I had tasted - Highly recommend to someone who wishes to "understand" Indian food with every lick and bite. Friendly staff (NOT the "yes-sir" types, but much more intelligent, educated and polished front and kitchen staff). I brand this restaurant as an Intelligent-Polished and No-Nonsense...
