Just had 1 night on 'Anna' and we were both impressed! But first, just a quick note how to get to her as not many people seem to have mentioned that! From the Central Station - best way is to come out at the back, assuming that the blasted ticket barrier will read and accept your blasted ticket (if not go out the front and it's right and 1st right again, under the bridge and you are there). It is dock 4 right by the bike park and you want the free ferry to NDSM: Anna is right by the big Botel ( it is not on the destination board)||Anyway - to continue. Anna is a lovely old boat that has been lovingly and expensively refurbished into a pretty good floating B&B by the owner. There is lovely polished wood everywhere and the rooms have been furnished nicely making use of a quite small space, and the bathroom has a 'proper' door which is very much a plus and the beds are quite comfy with a good pillow. The decor is well thought out and there is a TV. The one thing that really did creep me out was the thought that you are actually sleeping below the water line of the (very busy) river which is a bit odd...also passing boats and barges make quite big bow waves which rock things about a little bit whilst making rather disconcerting sploshing noises!!||However, the owner was very welcoming and friendly and we had quite an interesting conversation about Brexit - but enough of that!||Breakfast was a pleasure along with some very nice music and a good number of choices when it came to the food. You could also have eggs and bacon if you wanted at no extra cost. The shower is good and water as hot as you want, pretty much. There are a couple of mucky spots around the bottom corners of the door - but I am not grumbling about those as both of us really enjoyed our stay there.||Anna is about 2 minutes from the ferry stop but you have to wait about half an hour if you miss one - make sure you get on the right one if you are going back to the station! There is also a very nice eatery about 5 minutes walk away called Pllek which has great views over the water. A bit pricey but very good food.||So to sum up: if you don't mind sleeping with the fishes, it is well worth setting sail on the Kapitein Anna. Would definitely go back and...

Let me start of by saying if you are a particularly light sleeper then perhaps this isn’t the best place for you to say. Some bumps & noises from pumps and the dock but they didn’t bother us and I had an amazing sleep during my stay. The staff are super friendly and the hotel itself which is an old boat is such a fun experience. We didn’t book with breakfast included but paid extra on arrival as it looked (and was simply delicious) You can also ask the staff to cook up some hot food to go with the amazing breakfast. Excluding breakfast there wasn’t food on the boat but you have free tea / coffee, alcohol and there is a little supermarket about 4 min walk away.

Also less than a coupe of mins away is the free ferry service which will take you across the doc to the main city. The F4 takes you right across to central station.

I will hopefully get back for a visit to Amsterdam again soon and if I do I’ll be rebooking here!

My only downside is that the rooms don’t have much storage, which is understandable as there isn’t much you can do change that on a boat but perhaps a slide-able drawer under the bed...

A very mixed stay here. Parking was not an issue for us as we were here at the weekend but during the week I am sure parking off site would present its own problems. Arrival smooth and efficient. On arrival the room was hot but the air-con unit was extremally effective. When we had problems with TV reception in the room, this was quickly resolved. Breakfast was sumptuous and more than adequate, eggs anyway, along with pastries cereals yoghurts, cheeses and meats, if a little expensive at 14€ per person. The terrace in the evening was great to watch the sun set. The decor was excellent and in keeping with the vessels history. On the down side, our cabin (5) was next to the steps from the upper deck, so every time someone passed we could hear it clearly in our room, but worst of all, there was intermittent noise from a pump which came on randomly through the early night and evening right next to my bed head which disturbed my sleep on both nights. As for housekeeping, only the two towels we requested were changed. Beds remained unmade, complimentary toiletries were not refreshed, but the bin had...

A romantic place next to city center. A free ferry can take you to the train station every 15min. It is 2min far away from the hotel. A public parking is also 5min from the hotel. You have a beautiful view on the river, especially with sun rising when you have breakfast. The boat and the room are very cosy. Antony is the perfect host and he's very nice and always happy to make your stay wonderful, from your arrival, at the breakfast and till the night. The restaurant also proposed nice and tasty menu with fine service. Some people may claim about noisy rooms, but remind this an authentic paddle boat of more than 1 century... Just book in a company hotel liner if you ask for your home confort.

I would highly recommend this boat hotel if you get a chance to stay on here don’t miss out! The staff are very friendly and helpful the boat is very well looked after literally a few mins on the Free Ferry from central station! It’s like ur in the centre of Amsterdam but without all the loud noise. There are 2 smoking areas on top of boat or near entrance! The breakfast is also 10/10 I can’t wait to come back here but they normally sold out of rooms way in advance
