Very bad experience at La Piccola. I waited 1h30 for my pizza. After 1 hour wait we were told my pizza was on it way. 10 min later, the pizzaiolo came to us to saying he missed one ingredient (italian brocoli) to make my pizza (why do you wait 1h10 to check your ingredients?) so I changed my order for another pizza. 10 min later my pizza came and it was missing the tomato sauce. I asked the pizzaiolo about it and he replied that he didn't have tomato sauce (with zero apology). I started to be upset saying that this was unacceptable and instead of apologizing he made the situation worse by taking the situation personally and yelled at me, repeating he doesn't have tomato sauce and there's nothing else he can do. He even said I could come to his kitchen to check his fridge (why is it my problem if he's unable to organize his purchases?). I've never been treated in a such disrespectful way at a restaurant in Amsterdam by an oversized ego cook. The owner Andrea is very sweet but she shouldn't let her terrible employee talk to customers anymore (or let him...
Read moreWe were looking for a pizzeria near us. My partner is Italian but I am Spanish, by the look of the pizzas I was not very sure but I'm happy to have listened to him.
The place was not crowded when we got there, it is not a fine dine restaurant but it really makes you feel like home. The waitress offered me a blanket because it was a bit chilly outside. She took care of us since the very beginning 🥰
We had a focaccia burrata and a pizza Salerno. Both of them were super tasty 👌🏽 The dough was well done and also well cooked. The amount of ingredients was perfect and you can tell that the pizzaiolo made our food with passion and love. My partner talked with him for a bit and first of all, he can tell he is a truly Italian soul and second that he is gentile e simpatico.
In my own experience, the waitress has also the same characteristics and tries her best to treat their costumers like family. 🫶🏽
We finished the dinner with a great feeling and we are of course coming back soon!!

Read moreWe had made a reservation but the restaurant was quite empty. We got greeted by the host who was very eccentric but friendly. The atmosphere of the restaurant was alright, there are no decorations on the walls and everything looks quite plain. It took a while for us to get menus or get our order taken. While deciding what to order, another customer who was getting takeaway was haggling with the host about the price of several pizzas. This made it seem unprofessional as even the chef came out to deliberate on the “discount”. The staff was talking loudly in the back throughout the whole night, not helping with the lacking atmosphere. The wild boar ragù was very nice and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The Mr White pizza was also very good! As a dessert we got the tiramisu which was a little lacklustre compared to other homemade tiramisus we’ve had in Amsterdam. Overall, I’d come again for takeaway as the food was good however the dining experience was quite...
