Grillroom Shoarma "Hilal" — Local services in Amsterdam

I understand that the Netherlands isn’t a huge fan of VISA cards across the country but this is one of the few fast food places that didn’t accept a Visa card. Cost an extra 3 euro for lamb in the Broodje Döner which is slightly too expensive than is should be tbh, and the rest of the items on the menu were expensive even for Amsterdam prices. My dürüm Döner came out incredible thin and nothing we ordered was worth the money to be complete honest. Also the food came out with barely any ingredients I only received chicken and lettuce in my Döner and added the sauces myself, would not come back here again unless I had to. But I will give it to them that the vicinity was very clean and the music they had on was enjoyable, one of the better shoarma venues I’ve seen. Staff wasn’t too bad in terms of friendliness. I would come back if they added other vegetables to dishes.

Edit. I see the owner responded and has said they have had visa payment options for 5 years. Stop lying to the public. I guess for all those 5 years the stars magically aligned on THIS LONE NIGHT your machine wouldn't accept my card yet it was working at a bar no less than half an hour later. Also after this happened I pulled out a secondary (mastercard) to pay and your worker kept harassing me for cash.

I also see he got confused on my discussion of lamb. I am aware why the lamb is more expensive, but your pricing margins are extortionary was my main point, if I have to spell it out. I also see he lacks to respond to the fact that he exudes incredibly thin and...

Tijdens mijn zoektocht naar een eenvoudige kom soep belandde ik toevallig in dit restaurant. Wat begon als een spontane binnenkomst, groeide al snel uit tot een van de meest memorabele eetervaringen die ik de afgelopen tijd heb gehad.

Bij binnenkomst werd ik meteen verwelkomd door een warme, gastvrije sfeer. Op de achtergrond speelde rustige, traditionele Turkse muziek, die me diep raakte. De melancholische klanken deden mijn emoties oplopen en gaven me het gevoel dat ik even in een andere wereld was gestapt. Deze ambiance zorgde ervoor dat ik niet alleen voor soep koos, maar ook besloot een broodje shoarma te bestellen.

De soep werd snel geserveerd en overtrof al mijn verwachtingen. Het was rijk van smaak, perfect gekruid en duidelijk met liefde bereid. Wat deze ervaring nog bijzonderder maakte, was dat we er gratis vers brood bij kregen, iets wat ik bij een ander restaurant in de buurt, genaamd Burman Efendi, de vorige keer helaas had moeten missen.

Nadat we genoten hadden van de soep, kwam de eigenaar persoonlijk de shoarma aan onze tafel brengen. Deze attente service gaf me het gevoel dat er echt zorg en aandacht aan elke gast besteed wordt. De shoarma was fantastisch: mals, goed gekruid en perfect bereid. De combinatie van de heerlijke gerechten en de persoonlijke benadering van de eigenaar zorgde voor een gedenkwaardige maaltijd.

Na het eten nam de eigenaar even de tijd om een fijn gesprek met ons te voeren. Hij was oprecht geïnteresseerd en vertelde met trots over de gerechten en de cultuur van het restaurant. Als kers op de taart bood hij ons heerlijke Turkse thee aan, wat een perfecte afsluiting van de maaltijd was. De thee had die typische, volle smaak die je alleen ervaart bij authentieke Turkse thee en maakte de hele ervaring compleet.

Dit restaurant heeft mijn hart gestolen met zijn heerlijke eten, persoonlijke service en warme sfeer. Het voelde bijna alsof ik op bezoek was bij familie. Ik zal hier zeker vaker terugkomen en raad iedereen aan om dit pareltje zelf te ontdekken. Als je op zoek bent naar een plek waar smaak, gastvrijheid en sfeer samenkomen, dan is dit restaurant absoluut...

Whatever happened to shoarma being shaved from the rotisserie? You know, as it should be and how it used to be in Amsterdam? I ordered a kapsalon and broodje shoarma and both were filled with some mystery mince meat which did not resemble shoarma in any capacity. Nasty food, but my dog enjoyed it.
