Matto NOORD — Restaurant in Amsterdam

I can only say this is one of the best pizza places! The atmosphere combined with the indoor skate park and the great terrace make this a place to absolutely visit when you go to Amsterdam. This is where you experience the city at its best.

Thereby the terrace is huge, with beautiful palm trees and wide spread picnic tables. This place is for both young children to enjoy the skate park but also for elderly to just sit in the beautiful terrace and enjoy an amazing pizza and a wide assortment of refreshing drinks.

I was excited to try Matto based on the great reviews but was left underwhelmed. The pizzas have great ingredients and you can taste they are high quality and made with care. We ordered two different pizzas and unfortunately the oven bottom either wasn’t hot enough/ the upper part of the oven was too hot because the center pizza dough was a bit undercooked. Even though the edges looked good the bottom wasn’t browned and didn’t have any signs of a properly cooked pizza. Location and service were good but if the pizza isn’t cooked correct then...

There were four of us visiting and we each got a different pizza and they were all very tasty. Only slight criticism, is the base was a bit thin, prefer it to be a bit more chewy personally, but the flavour was on point. We got a mixed salad to go with the pizza and this also had a nice flavour to it. They have a variety of beers and wines to choose from.
