Don’t go here go to the upside down museum instead
My issues:
Staff behaviour: Several staff members were erude and unwelcoming. In particular, the lady in the final room where photos are printed was blunt and unhelpful. Staff were also intrusive throughout the experience, which made it uncomfortable.
Poor maintenance: Many rooms were dirty, damaged, and run down. Walls had marks, broken elements, and in the teddy bear room, some were hanging off with staples exposed.
Technical issues:
The music in the SpongeBob room was buzzing and buffering.
The claw machine did not work properly.
The photo quality was very poor, yet we paid €12 for three pictures.
Our locker would not open afterwards, which was distressing as we had valuable belongings inside.
Rooms & props: Some props were low quality (e.g. Primark tags still visible on items in the flower piano room). The photos taken in the themed rooms were blurry and disappointing.
Shoes policy & discomfort: One of the most frustrating parts of the visit was how staff handled the shoe policy. I took my shoes off to go into the marshmallow pool, as required, and I kept them off briefly while moving into the next room (the confetti shower). Within seconds, a staff member told me to put them back on, despite the fact that the very next room was the ball pit, where we were again required to take them off. This constant on-and-off with shoes felt unnecessary and poorly managed. It was also physically painful for me: we had walked around Amsterdam all day and I had already done over 20,000 steps, so my feet were sore and sensitive. Having to repeatedly put shoes on and take them off in such short succession was uncomfortable and unpleasant. Instead of making the experience fun, the staff’s strict and intrusive enforcement of this rule and other rules made it stressful and diminished the enjoyment.
Restricted enjoyment: Staff reprimanded us unnecessarily. For example, I fell in the bouncy castle room and was immediately told off for “jumping” when I had only fallen, which was unfair and embarrassing. Combined with the above shoe issues, it felt like we were being constantly watched and told off, rather than encouraged to enjoy the experience.
Overall experience: Despite walking through slowly, we were in and out within 30 minutes. The whole place felt run down, overpriced, and not worth the €60 paid.
Overall, the visit was extremely disappointing, especially when compared to other interactive experiences in Amsterdam which were of a far...
Read moreI have only kind words to say about the staff, the design and state of the rooms, and overall vibe of the place.
I would just recommend to think twice on weather this is the type of experience you are looking for, especially if you are an adult. It is a great place for taking pictures that look like you are having fun, but there is not a lot of interactivity to make it truly interesing or worthwhile otherwise, besides maybe the bouncy castle and ball pit. I went with my wife and five-year-old nephew, and don't see why this is not advertised more specifically to children - he had a blast, made a friend and really enjoyed the spongebob section. As an idea for a date of going with adults I don't see it being even remotely exciting.
Also - it took us like 20 minutes to get through the whole thing (my nephew is not big on taking pictures anyway), the staff was kind and helpful enough to let us go again, at which point we could spend some more time in the bouncy castle and ball-pit, but these are activities that are of course availabe elsewhere and for cheaper. Also on the other round there were much more people and you had to wait in lines at some stations - wait in line and then have fun on command, so it felt, which took away from it a bit.
So, yeah - overall I would rather recommend some other activities like museums or playgrounds with the kids to get more for your money and some extra value. But it could be that I am a cynical adult that is lacking a sense of wonder, so take this with a grain of...
Read moreHey there, I would like to share my amazing experience in this place. I really had a nice time, I could feel how I needed this time there. I’ve been living in Ireland and I didn’t have the opportunity to enjoy so much, I really got more than I was expecting. From the beginning to the end, all the time was a surprise and it was a genuine happiness. I think this place just woke up all my criativo energy and it made me spent my energy, I was like a little girl, happy, enjoying everything like I don’t have any single problem.
I believe more than me today, who was there enjoy that moment was me as a little girl. I am sure the inner child that still exists in me is truly grateful and happy! I think everybody should go there and spend a time, make the life more happy and see this world with a sweet eyes like the kids. The life is not only work, get money… please enjoy, feel moments like that, give the opportunity to yourself to forget bad and hard times. We deserve it!
I would like to say a million of thanks to all staff that they did my day, but in special to Jenifer Elana, Verônica and José; Hey guys, you all are brilliant people and everyone did the best how much as possible, to make my time incredible and perfect.
