Papillon in Amsterdam Noord is really a rare gem in the city.

You can truly feel that everything, from the food and service to the architecture and interior design, is crafted with care, love, and attention to every small detail.

The service is just amazing. Friendly, warm, and genuinely attentive, something that’s really not easy to find in Amsterdam. The food is simply delicious. You can taste the chefs’ expertise in every bite, with each dish carefully crafted to achieve a perfect balance of flavors.

Another big plus: all the bread, focaccia, and pastries are baked in-house, making everything incredibly fresh and tasty.

It’s open all day long, from the morning for a coffee, pastries or fresh bread, and it’s just as perfect for a relaxed brunch / lunch or dinner on the spacious sunny terrace.

With its unique and exceptional atmosphere it has definitely become a favorite...

This is a nice location with potential but we did not have the best experience on our first try. The Caesar salad was missing croutons and was very meager in volume for the price you pay. I could not find any anchovis either, although it seemed like they were mixed in with the dressing. The flatbread with spicy eggplant was ok on flavor but again very thinly spread and again quite pricy. They've got their flavors sorted it seems but need to check the price vs what you actually get on your plate. Service is good, we happened to have 2 tables very nearby that were quite loud which did not help...

The food was great, so was the wine. But the restaurant was understaffed and the waiters are polite but clearly not the most experienced. We went on a Thursday night and it was chaos. We got the starters fast, but had to wait half an hour to get our drinks, our order was forgotten, every time we get another drink we have to follow up once or twice. The main also didn’t come together so the steak was cold by the time the potato was out. All in all this would be a place I would recommend visiting but only if they fix...
