We had a booking in bob w and we had breakfast at ur place twice. We were all 18 very dissapointed in the service quality.
For some reason it was very difficult to communicate with the staff where we wanted to be seated and that we did not want to sit all together. Each and every one of us struggled with the waiters because they just did not understand that we will sit down and order from there, we did not need to be seated because there was not room for all of us in one table anyway.
After sitting and getting menu's most of the time even when it was not that busy it took 15-30min for the stff to collect orders.
Then the food always took 20-35min to arrive and if we asked how long not once did we get an answer.
Eggs benedict were overcooked on at least 4 plates which is dissapointing since we were always on a schedule and hungry so there was no chance to send them back to the kit hen. Furthermore paying 14€ for eggs benedict the quality should be proper.
I also made the mistake of ordering a take away coffee from you on a different day and observed your barista making them.
She did not wash her hands between 3 different orders, she took cinnamon for one drink, ice for other order and chia seeds for third. She did all of this with bare hands which is very unhygienic and god forbid I had a peanut allergy or something and her hands touched chia seeds and ice. This is basic hygiene and you should be careful because one day someone will get an allergy attack and it will be a lot worse message than this.
I only wonder what happens in the kitchen if the drinks are made like this.
Last point that I have is that you say that you are open untill 17:00 but for some reason your door is shut by 16:00. We were expecting to come and use the last vouchers and we were directed to you from bob w but then your door is closed. This is also not very cool. And makes you...
Read moreMy partner and I live in the area and were excited for a place with this concept to open up. Unfortunately this place still has a lot to figure out.. the first time we passed by to grab a coffee to go Saturday noon, granted this is their busiest time, we did not mind having to wait a little bit. As we waited we noticed how incredibly messy the open kitchen/service area was and how stressed out the staff were to the point where everything was at a stand still. It is a new place so it is forgivable that they still need to find a system that works best. Oddly we had to order directly from the barista and no one else? The coffee was pretty good. Next we came by around 3pm on a weekday to dine in, presumably their quietest time, there were maybe 3 other tables there. No one greeted us as we entered so we sat ourselves, 20 minutes later we flagged down someone to take our order, she had very little understanding of their menu and had no idea what we were talking about when we asked for a flat white, an item which is on their menu. When our coffees were brought to us by another employee one was wrong and instead of just apologising and correcting the order he passed the blame to his colleague who took our order.. Our food arrived before our coffees too. The food was pretty good but the coffee was burnt. The staff in general looked unhappy and it kills the vibe completely. As we left no one greeted us even though we said goodbye and to have a nice day. I really want to like this place, but it lacks atmosphere, skill, and customer service. Maybe in the future they will...
Read moreLiked it did not love it. Brunchdale is made out to be a big hip thing—and it is. What I loved is that it had a lovely neighborhood vibe, with everyone made to feel welcome. Not just catering to expat Booking.com hipsters, both in the set up of the place and what type of food it served.
But it’s also on the latter that it comes up short. All of the dishes felt done before, with mediocre ingredients but top-dollar prices. The devil is in the details, we ordered the avocuddle (avocado on toast) but it was only one slice of sourdough bread and a thin not fresh one that. Making the whole thing feel more like an avocado wave or handshake than being cuddled by avocado. And at 12 odd euros, that’s truly overpromising and underdelivering.
Smoothies were good but came in small glasses. Lattes were fine as long as you ordered them with regular milk. All and all, it was not worth the bike ride through the rain all the way from the center of town. I would come again if I had business in North but it’s not one of those gems-in-noord-to-go-out-of-your-way-for. Or at least not yet.
That being said, the service and servers were amazing. Very welcome and friendly, now the food just need to matched to the level of service (and also we had really pined for the halal bacon, only to find out...
