TL;DR - Skip it. Below Average at best. Anybody who comes here arguably comes because of Suresh Raina’s hype. Mr. Raina needs to listen up if he wants this to succeed and build a brand. The restaurant is below average at best. And all through my experience I was wondering if it was preferentialism or if service staff just didn’t care. Let me say why 1) Service - it feels like staff don’t care about you, or forgot you exist. Once we came in, we expected at least menus would be given to us. We had to go fetch our own menus after 15 minutes of . If it was a self serve restaurant I’d understand. Service was slow, staff were confused and honestly, even to order something again we had to hunt staff down. Seated next to us were 4 gentlemen. All the staff seemed to be engrossed in serving only them. Us and our other neighbours were fully ignored. Water glasses weren’t refilled. While we were hunting for someone to call to fill out water, 3 staff were serving these 4 gentlemen, while one was just wandering around. There were no staff to call and even when we did, they didn’t care. Service is the worst part of this restaurant. 2) Food - Beow average at best. Naan was served cold. This was the biggest joke. Bell pepper in paneer kurchan tasted very funny. Biryani had little to no flavour. It was like any other indian restaurant in Europe. Very meh. 3) Atmosphere - this is one place where this restaurant scores points. Clean, hygienic, good toilets, good ambiance. Honestly it was surprising that the staff felt like they didn’t care. I refrain from writing negative reviews but I’m this case, I must warn people before they spend their hard earned money.

I had the pleasure of dining at Raina restaurant and I must say—it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was incredibly authentic, rich in flavor, and clearly prepared with great attention to traditional Indian recipes. Every dish brought back memories of true Indian home-style cooking, and the aroma alone was enough to make your mouth water. What truly elevated the experience was the outstanding service provided by Avtar Singh. From the moment we arrived, he was warm, welcoming, and highly attentive without being intrusive. He guided us through the menu with genuine enthusiasm, made thoughtful recommendations, and ensured that every detail of our meal was perfect. It's rare to find a combination of such high-quality food and genuinely caring service. Avtar Singh made us feel like valued guests, and his hospitality made a lasting impression. I would highly recommend this place to anyone craving real Indian flavors and five-star service. We will definitely be returning—thank you, Avtar, for making our visit so memorable

If you’re a cricket fan—or just someone who loves amazing food—Raina Restaurant in Amsterdam is an absolute must-visit! From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the warm, inviting ambience. The decor perfectly balances modern elegance with a touch of cricket nostalgia, especially the signed jerseys of Dhoni and Raina proudly displayed—it’s a dream come true for any cricket lover. The food was absolutely delightful—every dish bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. You can truly taste the passion and care that goes into each plate. While I missed Raina’s personal presence that day, being surrounded by the cricket memorabilia made me feel like he was right there, sharing his love for good food and great cricket. Overall, Raina Restaurant is a perfect blend of fantastic cuisine, cricket-themed charm, and cozy vibes. Whether you’re a local, a tourist, or a die-hard fan, this place is worth every visit. Can’t wait to come back!

I am not sure people giving here 5 star ever been here or they are just pressing the button.

I avoid writing reviews irrespective of its bad or good as each restaurant may have very bad day and very good day.

But couldn't stop myself writing this as this was worst experience I had in Europe and as far as i remember in rest of world for me. Even in India i have never had this experience.

My 8 Years Old Son is diehard fan of Chicken. If you place good food in front of him, he will never leave the table or distract himself for not eating chicken.

This time litterly he was throwing the chicken which he was eating as it was so blant and tasteless.

Story starts here we reached around 8.40 PM , though we booked table for 7 we only got the place at around 9.30. this was expected after Insta post by Mr. Raina. After waiting for 10 min somehow we able to grab the Menu card as no one really cares. And in 1 minute person taking order was asking are you ready with the order.

Btw The menu card is of old Chandani Chauk Restaurant even the print was not changed niether added RAINA as name on it.

After placing order at around 9.40, we asked for order status at 10.20. the response was,it will take 10 more minutes. Imagine coming to dinner at 8.40 and not having anything on table till 10.20 -10.30.

So our expectations was touching sky-high that something special is coming in our way.

We order Chicken Afghani, Chicken Tangadi , chicken platter,Butter Chicken and GT Road Chicken

All of them were so pathetic and tasteless that even i cook better at home. Butter chicken was mix of some tomato puree with no Butter.

For Afgani Chicken , i don't know what it is but definitely some boiled chicken without Salt. After making aware of the fact to staff, about aloo mutter gravy which was complementary with Chicken platter was nothing but water with uncooked mutter and some Chilli powder. They were like this is cooked this way only.

For Afgani Chicken and no salt, reply was someone complaining about too much salt to we reduce it. I mean What? Someone told you that salt was too much as Restaurant you will change your recipe? Then what is your signature?

After that Nice "polite" uncle came to as and started arguing like , have you eat afgani chicken anywhere? Do you want me to add chillies ( Mirch dalke du?) This butter chicken is cooked by Chief from Daryaganj and surprisingly i am from Mumbai but my Friends were from Delhi. They immediately counter him about this claim of Local Daryaganj butter chicken.

The main part is no one trying to listen to us from staff and more focus with arguing with us. Unprofessional staff.

Unfortunately we left at 11.00 as clock was kicking and Amsterdam parking you know.... Worst part was, my Son didn't eat anything as it was not of his standard ( Btw my Son eat spicy, Authentic food)

As it was already 11 and we have to come back to Utrecht and my friend have to leave for Germany as he came with big expectations I asked my Son to drink Milk and sleep.

But this was nightmare and worst experience by Restaurant claim by Raina....

PS: No body paid me to write this review. This is Honest on behalf of my Son who pays me so much love and agree to sleep with No food.

A 8 year kid spitted the food out of his mouth in the plate and left hungry from the restaurant. This shows what...

Understaffed, lot to learn, Ok food

After the tiring day, we were looking for options to eat outside. Came across a post by Suresh Raina about his restaurant and ofcourse we got excited and immediately booked it for 9pm as all the earlier slots were booked.

Firstly, since it is in the main city, the only option for parking is street parking. Luckily we got a place and reserved it for 1.5hours

Upon entering the restaurant.. there was quite some crowd as expected ofcourse. But it was very chaotic. I think the restaurant was not prepared to handle such a huge turnout. We saw many people leaving after waiting for an hour even for the starters. So now we were also a bit disappointed and felt like leaving, but we're so tired that we thought let's see how it goes.

We felt a bit sorry for the customers and also the staff. The restaurant ambience is simple, nothing fancy or outstanding, it is quite big and spacious and I definitely feel they need more staff to improve and manage the service.

After we got seated for like 10 mins upon arrival that too because some of the customers left, we had to wait for some time to get the menu, and a chance to order, we directly ordered the main course, Paneer Tikka Masala, Dal Makhani, Butter Naan, Aloo Paratha and 2 Mango lassi. I had expected atleast to be served with Papad while the order is being prepared, but that was not the case, unlike most restaurants they don't serve it

Got Paneer Butter Masala instead of Tikka Masala, No butter on Butter Naan, Dal Makhani and Mango Lassi were of not good consistency. Mango Lassi was a bit different than the ones we usually get. It had more Kesar and Pista flavour. Portion size was also ok. So the overall experience was not great.. Would suggest trying the restaurant after 2 or 3 weeks, once the staff gets the hang of it.

Although based on the experience I would have rated 1 or 2 star, but just considering the initial days have given 3, would try once again after a month or two.

Note, for delivery they have a different name, Chandni Chowk, the kitchen is the same for both the restaurants but online delivery happens via Chandni Chowk.

After coming back from the restaurant, I checked the profiles of people who had given positive reviews, for most of them this is the first restaurant review in Amsterdam, and the majority it is the first review outside India, I really doubt, whether those are genuine reviews. CSK or Raina...

This has been byfar the most disappointing Indian Restaurant in Europe in my Experience of 7 years of living in Europe and travelling all around the World n eating at Indian Restaurants everywhere. I wish there was a 0 Star rating option, even that would be too much to say the least. Where do i start. Worst, Pathetic and substandard quality of Food came later after the terrible mismanagement n confused Staff. We were a group of 7 People alltogether and we frequent Indian Restaurants in Netherlands n Germany almost every Weekend. So for starters we reserved a Table for 8:30pm 1 day prior. We were made to wait till 9:30pm inspite of Reservation. Still ok. While we were waiting, we saw atleast 3 groups leaving massively disapponted as they were made to wait over an Hour and served "Hörbrille Food". We thought maybe some other issues were there n decided to still give it a Try. Little did we know, what we are in for. Food ordered shortly therafter and to our Surprise the Menu online wasnt anywhere to be seen and the Menu was of some Chandni Chowk Restaurant. Still ok. The Food came at the Table some one Hour later at 10:20pm and then began the Tomfoolery - Afghani Chicken Tikka - literally bland boiled Chicken with no Salt let alone the taste of the Marinade or Spices. Naan was just Papad and Aloo Mutter was just bland Masala Water with uncooked Peas and Potatoes. When the Staff was made aware of the same we were met with rude Responses as " Kya aapne kabhi Afghaani Chicken khaaya hai? This is how Afghaan Chicken is" Now do i add Chillies to this and give? The Moment this happened , surrounding Tables also voiced their displeasure with the Food. To this Point almost everyone in the Restaurant had the same Opinion, some stormed out furiously.

I am not bragging here but have almost eaten Indian Food in every Country in Europe by now and this is by far the most pathetic one I've been to with no responsibility and no reception to feedback from the Customers. If Suresh Raina really wants this to be one of the Restaurants here forget best and also if he doesnt wish his Name n Reputation go for a Toss, he should look into doing something about this.

If you've managed to read the Review till here also know that barring some positive Reviews all the 5 Star Reviews seem like Spam, do check their Review histories and you shall knw. Manipulating positive Reviews aint gonna help in the...
