This is a little gem of an Italian restaurant. I happened on it by chance and decided to enjoy dinner here. The menu is small, and don't expect your usual pasta and pizzas. The menu is well crafted, and there is something for everyone. The specials of the day were extensive, and it was hard to decide what to have. After the bread, balsamic olive oil, and complementary bottle of water were delivered to the table, I opted for the Vitello Tonnato as a starter. Well, it could have been a main course, and I was hard pushed to finish it. Delicious. I didn't want to spoil my mains, but I had to finish this. Mains was a veal cheek on a bed of potato and parmesan, served with pickled vegetables. It was mouthwateringly tender, and I enjoyed every last morsel. All washed down with a glass or two of Primitivo. For dessert, I opted for the tiramisu. It was very nondescript. The only disappointment of the evening and I should have opted for the dessert of the day, the coconut panna cotta with passion fruit. The Italian guys serving me were very friendly and helpful. They even had time to stop and have a chat. Overall, it was a very welcome evening spent sitting out on the pavement at an Italian restaurant. I highly recommend the experience.

Went as a group of 3, total bill came to about €104. We ordered a starter to share, 3 mains, and 1 dessert. Starter: Burrata - Nothing bad about the dish, can’t go wrong with any burrata dish honestly. Presented well. Mains: We got 2 specials of the day - Cod with potato puree & the lobster bisque risotto with scallops. The cod was absolutely delicious, cooked to almost perfection. The best dish of the night. The risotto was alright, could have used a bit more flavour. The portion of scallops was a bit sad but other than that it was fine. Truffle Ravioli: Good portion size and it was full of flavour. Dessert: Tiramisu - loved it, good taste of the rum. Service: Excellent, very friendly people. Would go back!

We were a group of ten people, would like to start off with the positive: great and attentive service! Unfortunately, the food was disappointing to me, we all went with the 3-course surprise menu, because we were a big group, we got to taste each other’s dishes. The burrata and fish appetizers were a let down, very bland, however, the veal with tuna was good. For the main course, the seared tuna fish dish was too salty, and the meat dish was too bland. Sadly for some, the portion was too small. Dessert was good, it was lava cake accompanied by a small scoop of ice cream and then ended with some sort of lemon sorbet drink

I recently had a family dinner at La Taratella in Amsterdam and it was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, perfect for an (extended) family-get-together. The staff was incredibly attentive and made us feel right at home. They went above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was enjoyable.

The food was absolutely delicious, especially the signature dish of King Crab with black pasta. The flavors of the dish were rich and decadent, and the pasta was cooked to perfection. Every bite was a taste sensation.

We finished our meal with a delicious dessert and a glass of limoncello, and it was the perfect ending to a perfect evening. If you're looking for a "feel at home" dinner spot in Amsterdam, I would highly recommend La Taratella. The food, atmosphere, and Nico+Team's service are...
