Someone has recommended this warung to me in Facebook. He always satisfied whatever food he eats, he said. Well, well, try me. I currently lived in Germany so i need approximately 7 hours to go there by train, with numerous coffee and 5 times transit. I stopped by the Hoofddorp and had to walk 5-7 minutes until i saw green canopy. My heart beated a lil faster. Then i saw the smile from the woman in there, reminds me a lot a typical Indonesian woman, with Batik and her worker hands. Like my mother's hands. This kinda hands, i know it too well. Full of kitchen skill, know every taste and herbs, brave, strong, and they are, can not hear a lil word when someone say, "I'm hungry." Ibu Sri, just like my mother. She smiles a lot, gave me every sambal she has, describe every taste of her Veggie and Tempeh too well, i try not to cry. Really. I ate Veggie Rames and cannot complained a word. Every sayur or veggie she has are just. Fineee. But watchout, when she said, that sambal is strong, it means really strong. When she said, i made Asinan Bogor today, you want some? That means you. Have. To. Try. Ah ya, unfortunately i ate there in a lockdown mode, so i have to take the food away. The next day i tried her Gado-Gado and it is also great. She will give you a large amount sambal kacang or peanut sauce. The texture can melt but you can still taste the chrunchiness of the nuts. What can i say. All i ate there had went down to my belly in 5 minutes. All kudos, Bu Sri! Sehat selalu, jaya selalu buat ibu dan Warung Barokah yang bikin aku selalu kangen buat balik lagi!...
Read moreWe were looking to try some authentic Indonesian food, so we decided to try Warung Barokah for the first time. Upon arrival at the restaurant we had to wait 10-15min before we could order. Weirdly the staff helps and serves their own Indonesian acquaintances first with a bigger portion even though many of them arrived after us and ordered the same bakso soup. We didn’t mind much, since we had time.
When we got our soups, half way of eating it I found a dead big black fly in the bottom of my bowl! There was no way of finding the fly beforehand since the noodles and beef balls were floating on top. We got disgusted by it and told the waitress about it quietly, not in front of the customers. The lady reacted totally indifferently and disingenuously. She even had the audacity to demand payment. Never in my life have I encountered such bad service and attitude!
To the owners, no need to contact me for a compensation as I won’t ever visit your restaurant again after this incident. Please recheck your kitchen hygiene and train your staff properly regarding...
Read moreIf you are craving for some Indonesian (javanese) dish that are more than famous nasi goreng or sate, then Warung Barokah would be a great choice. This is the real warung, no joking. There is Ibu Sri as the chef and owner, with her strong javanesse style of kindness, her dangdut music played as the backsound, very affordable price (I checked my bills many times, afraid that maybe she forgot something). Her authentic food at the highest and REAL variant of sambals. My javanese tounge and sense approve her authentic warung as a whole. We took risoles, pastel, bakso, rujak cingur, rawon, cumi saos hitam, rames vegan and dawet. For rujak cingur fans, here is the place! I am not fan of it but it is my mother's fav. And yes, the taste brought me back to small rujak stall in east java. Then, I took away rames with rendang, dendeng/balado, oseng tempe tahu, eggplants, kue lapis, pandan sponge cake. I am hangover with her dendeng and kue lapis. Hope I can visit there...
