Warung Padi Indonesian — Restaurant in Amsterdam

We ate here three times in a five day stay at nearby Best Western Hotel. The food is great. We went for a meal in the restaurant and found it is only for take outs. So we had our first meal outside on a public bench with forks and spoons provided by Warung Padi. Very nice. Great meals...they have a 5 Euro dish and a 9.5 Euro dish which is a select what you want deal. The vegetables were excellent, eggplant, green beans, and others too. The meat selections are also very good. So we went three times....that tells you something does it not? Each time we went back for the wonderful Indonesian spices and the delicious taste of the food which...did I say this yet? .... is very very very cheap.....such amazing value. I do not say that often....this is excellent value for money and good quality food. The staff are friendly, helpful, cheerful and welcoming. Lots of locals are coming and going getting their evening meals for home. Look....this is great value and you should try it if you are reading this trying to choose a place tonight. Cheap and very good BUT only takeout. Oh and they have dishes you can select without having to do the choose what you want on one plate for 5 or 9.5 Euro...so quite a good selection of other Indonesian style food. We found their spicy dishes not so hot, just spicy and nice. Go...

Good value for price. Taste are good and it’s a convenient meal option. Not sure it’s always the freshest and have had some hiccups in service but nothing that keeps me from going back.

First time there, they gave me some one else’s meal (which I’m not sure how it happened since they literally package it in front of you). Got confused when they were warming them up as they wrap it in paper. Wouldn’t have bothered me so much but when I went back, got very skeptical looks from staff and made no effort to make it up to me even though I had to make another trip back to have it corrected.

A few other times have had issues with the PIN payments (old reader that doesn’t work well) and have to sit there while they play with my card to make it work. Now I’m just sure to bring cash to...

A really awful experience - DO NOT GO. We ordered, paid and by mistake took the wrong bag on the counter home after saying good bye multiple times. After discovering the order wasn’t ours, we went back just to be shouted at by such a rude employee who demanded we pay AGAIN for our order for their inconvience?? Absolutely ridiculous logic and customer service and we left empty handed without any food after still paying. No responsibility was taken from them for the wrong bag being taken, let alone an apology or conversation. Just patronising and rude behaviour. I still...
