Zwagers — Restaurant in Amsterdam

I often think about the impermanence of things, or perhaps paradoxical permanent state of change we find ourselves in during our lives. We all live days that feel the same, played out, monotonous, but this is merely an illusion. For around us there is constant change, we are just not blessed with the awareness or mind to comprehend it. In a way, I find the mundane or usual supremely important. It is a trick that keeps us sane in such a chaotic world. All this to say that the day Zwagers closes, and I can no longer savor the just-greasy-enough burgers and generous portions of tasty fries, I will be on my knees. The fries are natural and homemade, you can see for yourself how they are cut, and on top of that they are cheap, these same fries in any other place with the same type of potatoes are three times more expensive. The hamburgers are super good, the meat is very good. The staff is family, I think the owners are brothers and when they are not there then their children are there, they are all very friendly and greet you and know you, that is much more than can be said of any place in Amsterdam. This is by far the best burger I ever ate. Very good price point (like 6€ per Burger) and the pattys are big, very crispy and well grilled. The toppings are high quality and not too little or much and the sauces are just on a different level. I ate with friends there randomly because it was close to the hotel we stayed in and after that ate 4-5 times there in the 3 days we stayed in Amsterdam.
