i come here semi-regularly, and while i used to be really satisfied with the food and service here, it has definitely taken a hit in the last year. i want to be clear that it doesnt have anything to do with the employees! the human servers are friendly and helpful. the robot ones tend to get stuck in corners and while they are a spectacle for customers, i feel bad for the employees who contantly have to correct their course inbetween their other tasks.
the main thing about the service though, is that the customisation options in their butlaroo menu have gradually decreased to a degree that seems unnecessary to me. it is no longer possible to omit or swap out elements of a meal, like a choice between fries or rice. You will be served the fries whether you will eat them or not, and will have to order a bowl of rice separately. while i do have a theory about why this decision has been made, it still feels extreme.
in my personal opinion, i would prefer to pay more for the food if it means i can hold a physical menu and be served by a human...
Read moreIt's the Netherlands so the food isn't good in general, and this place is no exception. The bibimbap isn't actually bibimbap, and the ramen is not actually ramen. Both dishes approximate their namesakes without coming close in flavor, and without actually containing the necessary ingredients to qualify as the food they're supposed to be (eg, bibimbap had no gochujang, and contained soybeans and corn. No bibimbap served in Korea or by Koreans anywhere will be like that. Gochujang is the spicy red pepper paste that is an essential ingredient of any variant of bibimbap.)
The food isn't bad (it also isn't good). It's serviceable. It's very much the Dutch interpretation of what those foods are. The quantity is decent for the price, however. For a country with bad food this place is alright.
Note: if you're Dutch then this food is probably delicious for youI, and good for you;I hope you enjoy it.
If you have ever actually eaten real ramen or bibimbap or poké, do not expect that to be...
Read moreDadawan was one of my favorite places in Arnhem, but today it disappointed me so much that I don't think I'll ever visit it again. We wanted to celebrate a special occasion this Saturday evening. But as we approached the restaurant, we saw a huge line outside. We understood that it's quite a popular place at this time and were ready to wait for some time. As time passed, we noticed that the manager picked large groups and seated them on priority, without taking into account couples who waited for a longer time. We waited for 30 minutes without any progress, while the groups of 3-5 people would be seated right at the moment they came. We couldn't stand this attitude and left hungry. Free advice for the restaurant management: start taking reservations and prioritize customer...
