Made a reservation but when I arrived they simply said they had no place. Not professional

Update after reply from restaurant: If you make mistakes and the customer gives you feedback then take this as input and learn from it. Don’t write a response that makes no sense because it just makes you look bad. To be clear. I made an online reservation during the afternoon and the email that I got said that the reservation needed to be confirmed. However, this didn’t happen. Therefore I decided to call before traveling to your restaurant. You and I spoke on the phone and you saw my reservation. You indicated that you would find me a place but maybe not immediately at 8pm, which was fine. When I arrived 7.55pm, the restaurant was full. An older man spoke to me and confirmed there was no place. I told about the reservation and that I called. He went to discuss with a colleague and came back to confirm there would be no place. I reminded him about the reservation and he just shrugged it off. At that point we were on your terrace and I told him that this wasn’t acceptable. This older waiter and all guests heard the conversation, so don’t tell me that I hadn’t shown up. I then took out my phone and wrote the review while on your terrace. A good Italian restaurant for family and friends 7/10. There are many options to choose from pizza, pasta, to meat or fish dishes, for sure everyone will find something they would like to try. -+ Ambience: cozy and casual. It could be better if the decoration and WC area get more attention. ++- Service: friendly and kind. The staff kept smiling and nicely gave explanations about the dishes. When it's busy you have to be patient as dishes took times to arrive :( --++ Food: We started our dinner with a share plate with mix of many food. It's not so special it's like a big tapas plate with cheese, melon fruit, olives, shirmp and mussels... Shirmp and mussels tasted plain like they were boiled only. Some mussels still had sands on them so it's a -. Ravioli dish cooked nicely. My beefsteak cooked perfectly: juicy and soft. It was creamy pepper sauce but barely tasted any pepper. But the veggies were great: fresh and "crunchy". That kept the taste generally balance and didn't make me feel fed up because of the thick creamy sauce. Lasagna was the most impressive dish. It's not bad but just so so. I enjoyed my tiramisu. It looked pretty but yummy too. Price: quite reasonable. Good portions.

In de studententijd ben ik vaak uit eten geweest bij de Italiaan die hiervoor in het pand zat. Maar onder de nieuwe naam en ik denk ook nieuwe eigenaar was ik nog niet geweest. Ik ga ook eigelijk niet zo vaak meer naar pizza restaurants. Misschien toch maar eens vaker doen, want het was gezellig en de prijs valt mij ook mee. We hadden beide meer zin in een pasta dus de pizza's heb ik niet geprobeerd. De pasta's waren lekker. Wel weinig Groente, maar dat heb je eigelijk altijd in een restaurant. Ze waren wel goed gevult met vlees en vis en lekkere romige saus. Het restaurant was lekker warm wat fijn was want het was buiten erg koud. Wel zag ik toen ik ophoog keek naar de airco dat er een keer een doekje overheen gehaald mag worden 😜. Verder was het restaurant netjes en schoon. Het personeel is vriendelijk. Er zit wel groot verschil in. Sommige zijn echt extreem vriendelijk en sommige stralen toch ook wel uit dat het gewoon werk is wat gedaan moet worden. Gelukkig maakte de andere extreem vriendelijke personeelsleden dat goed. We kregen aan het eind nog een limoncello van het huis. Je voelt je heel erg welkom. Ik denk dat dat echt Italiaans is en dat de eigenaar (ik ga er vanuit dat de oudere man in het restaurant de eigenaar is) ook een echte Italiaan is. Er word op de achtergrond (wel redelijk hard) ook Italiaanse muziek afgespeeld. Na de pasta gingen we nog voor het toetje. Ik ging voor de lavacake en mijn vriend voor het spaghetti ijs (ik vraag me nog steeds af waarom dat zo heet). Opzich was die van mij prima, maar toen ik die van hem bekeek viel die van mij een beetje weg. Ik had 1 bolletje ijs bij mijn lavacake, die van hem was een grote berg! De slagroom zat onder het ijs waardoor dat een beetje wegviel. Dat kan er denk ik beter op of naast. Ik vind het wel voor herhaling vatbaar. Voor een goede prijs kun je er gezellig en betaalbaar eten.
