We are really happy to see how Mama Bowls has expanded and grown. The cauliflower bowl with the gochujang glaze was delicious, the tteok-bokkii was really good and the presentation was appealing to the eyes too. Nice to see how the interior decor has improved and that it is no longer cold inside.
However after being happy customers since they have opened, today we noticed an unfortunate decrease in food and service quality. I had the tofu bowl with the ginger-orange glaze, for the first time the glaze lacked salt and flavor/ was underseasoned, the tofu was cut in chunks way too big for a normal topping. The triangle kimbap was very underseasoned as well. As you can imagine this was sadly a very bland meal but since we paid for it already we ate it anyways. We are not fans of wasting food.
We are also guessing some of the staff was having a bad day because there was also a sense of 'I don't want to be here/ giving you service' energy coming over in the service which came over as not friendly/ not being inclusive to non-Koreans? Not sure what was happening with the employee but it definitely did not feel welcoming.
We will not be coming back for a long time due to these setbacks. We hope this can be improved because the business has allot...

Food was served very fast, most likely part of it was precooked. Tokpokki were nice moderately spicy, for some reason there were a lot of carrots chopped in huge sliced pieces in the sauce. Beef in Kimpap and Bibimpap was roasted to death and very fat (probably cheap poor quality one).Kimpap was overall ok, but every single piece unrolled when touched. Bibimpap was just rice with veggies and bad beef, completely lacked the distinctive flavor - there was no gochujang sauce and sesame oil in it. Kimchi was the most disappointing. It was acidic, not crunchy, not spicy, lacked flavour in general. Tasted just like soggy acidic cabbage with some chilly flakes and garlic.
The place seemed ok, but I guess it's just a hyped destination for koreaboos. Cos if you now the taste of good Korean food, the difference is there. Very disappointing experience. Would...
