Ambiance & Service The atmosphere was lively and vibrant. The staff was attentive, and when we raised our concerns, they addressed them promptly, which we appreciated.
Food • Nachos from the Self Serve Table: A convenient option, though the flavor was average and didn’t stand out. • Appetizers: The nachos with guacamole were fresh and enjoyable, and the jalapeño poppers were the standout dish. Perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. • Main Course: Unfortunately, the enchiladas and beef queso tacos were overly salty to the point of being inedible. This was disappointing, especially considering the otherwise appetizing presentation. • Dessert: We were excited for the churros but found them undercooked and doughy, missing the crispy texture we expected.
Drinks We both ordered the La Bomba cocktail. While the flavor was enjoyable, the drinks were inconsistent. One was a darker shade of red, while the other was noticeably lighter. This minor detail detracted from the experience of a carefully crafted cocktail.
Overall Impression While the appetizers and drinks had potential, the inconsistency in food quality, especially the overly salty main courses and undercooked dessert, impacted our overall experience. The staff’s attentiveness and the restaurant’s lively concept were positives, but the execution of the food needs improvement to match the vibrant experience they aim to provide.

Read moreWe did dine at this restaurant twice while staying recently at Marriott Ocean Club. Food was ok I guess .... I am no Mexican food expert but I think it was good enough overall. The second time we went there our reservation was missed. They didn't put it in the system when we stopped by to make a reservation couple of hours earlier (couldn't do it through open table) and when we got there our name wasn't in the system. Like any other service industry, the entry point is THE most important step in the overall service delivery process and unfortunately this step is overlooked at times. Then there was the extended wait time between ordering our food and receiving it. Even our drinks came very late. Our waiter though was great and we could see all the waiters and waitresses working really hard. The hostesses told us both times that there was a 30 min wait time after order was received. During our 2nd visit we waited more than 45 min for our food to arrive. So watch for that and be patient if you really want to eat there. Otherwise try another restaurant. Would have been great if mgmt rounded and checked on customers and explained why there was an extended wait time (being short staffed, call outs, high volume of orders, etc.). Communicating and keeping your customers informed would...
Read moreCampeones is the Mexican restaurant at Marriott’s Aruba Ocean Club, part of the Marriott resort area at Palm Beach on Aruba. Our group went on Tuesday, April 18 2023 for dinner at 5:30PM.
The restaurant is indoors. It was not very busy when we arrived and we were immediately seated. The décor is very nice with television monitors showing old movies. There is an old car with the rear hatch open with baskets of tortilla chips and dips and salsas for the customers to self-serve. Seating is both tables and booths. We chose a booth. After helping ourselves to chips and salsas, we ordered drinks that included sangria and a passion fruit margarita. Two of the group ordered enchiladas and I ordered Beef Quesa-Tacos with a side of rice and beans.
All of the food and drinks were very good. The service was also very good. The décor was beautiful and pricing was more than reasonable. As usual, the real question is ‘would I eat there again or recommend it?’. My answer is yes, I would eat there again because of all of the reasons in...
