There is much to be said about food but I will just say that it was fantastic! Read some of the reviews including the bad ones and the only thing I can say the level of service doesn't match the level of food prepared but let's begin in the beginning.
The place is located in a fantastic place. Right on the beach and it adds a lot in terms of ambiance and enjoyment. The greeter or maitre d' knew about our reservations and had our table ready not that it mattered much as restaurant wasn't full. I think mostly because it was Black Friday. We were seated and a nice girl came to give us menus, which were backlit (nice feature in a low light environment), and the wait begun. Our waiter took may be 5-10 minutes to come over and talk to us about specials and drinks, which by our view was a bit long. We asked a question and had to wait about another 10 minutes for an answer, and this was a story all through our experience.
Catch of the day (Wahoo), Surf and Turf, Seafood paste, kids portions were fantastic, but service kills the experience somewhat...
Usually in most Caribbean islands I've visited the situation is that average food and its presentation is matched by an average service, but here mediocre service kills the experience of top notch food being served.
Overall I would visit again, but if service doesn't improve it may kill this place and its...
Read moreWe were first greeted by an overly forward gentleman. He approached us and immediately asked if we were on honeymoon - to which we replied "no." He then insinuated that we'd return next year with a baby, to which we laughed off. Whilst he was saying this in gest, he repeated the remarks a couple more times which made us uncomfortable. It may sound like nothing, but it was definitely weird and he should have stopped after the honeymoon thing.
Hadicurari has a great location if you want to stay on Palm Beach and watch a beautiful sunset. I had the vegan pizza which was okay, it was good to see a Vegan portion of the menu with a few different options. My partner had spaghetti bolognese sans meat. She enjoyed it, although I always think the price should be less if you are getting it without meat.
I want to mention that I wanted to give Hadicurari 3 stars, however our wonderful waitress is where this review takes a turn. She was AMAZING. She chatted with us for sometime about Aruba and the local spots, she was helpful with helping us with our food/wine selection. I'm so sad I can't remember her name, but she truly is an amazing employee! Very kind with great energy.
With many of these beach front restaurants I feel you are paying an "atmosphere tax". The food/service alone doesn't justify the price, however being...
Read moreFood and service is good here as I ate here many times. However last night just wanting a small bite I ordered the Seafood chowder , it was very small and without any pieces of seafood but full of favor so the manager made it again for me and yes second time around it had several seafood items in it but for the life of me I can’t understand why they would ruin it with fake crabmeat ( funny I told him please don’t make it w fake crab meat like they do upstairs at the place above them, he said no no no not a problem, and then I got 3 giant princes of fake crabmeat) being on an island with so much fresh seafood and so much seafood on their menu again just seems crazy they use fake crab meat as one of the seafood ingredients on their chowder. For those that don’t know, imitation crab meat is basically a hotdog of minced fish pieces and parts and NO CRAB. If you ever watcha a documentary on Netflix or youtube on fake crab you’ll never eat it again. I know you can do better and next time let’s get it right- use real seafood. Make a statement, make it your “gotta have it” item. What chef wants to use fake crab meat anyway. Would I go back, absolutely yes. Would I like to see them use real seafood ONLy in their seafood chowder Yep...
