Texas Alaparia Restaurant — Restaurant in Curaçao

Poor service and terrible food for a hefty price. its like they just don't care about people health. This is one of the worst spot I went to eat in Curaçao. At first when walking I thought to my self the place looks nice and cosy, we sat down to eat the waiter came over to take the order, which didn't speak any other language than Spanish ( no problem). proceeded to order, I had chicken pincho, Texas burger and cheese balls. They served us under cooked chicken, I waited for the waiter to come back to the table, but she didn't, because she was standing behind of the counter on the phone. I had to stand up from the table and walk over to her to asked to have the chicken cooked a little bit longer. She then came over took the chicken back to the kitchen, chicken came back but was still under cooked. I stand up again to tell her the chicken was still under cooked, she then decided to take the chicken off the skewer and put it in a bowl, when the third time, I heard screaming in the kitchen that of unhappiness that the chicken was sent back. Waiter brought the kitchen back and the kitchen was completely burned and was less. We had fried rice and side order and French fries, Rice was hard( old rice) and French fries was like mussy with hard lumps inside. The beef patty in the burger was very stiff and chewy. Cheese balls was great. Service was terrible, waiter doesn't speak no English, no dutch, no Papiamento only Spanish. I would not recommended to eat here, because you end up spending a lot for poor service and bad food. if the food was bad, but the service was good, I wouldn't mind but to have both is just terrible for a hefty price. Usually I do not like to write review like this for restaurant, but I feel I have the duty to warn others. Perhaps also change the depressing Spanish music, we as customers are there to have a good time. we need good happy music and not depressing art...

I went there for the first time with my dad. Was extremely disappointed. There was a special on the screen for Naf 39.95, they could not add the discount so i had to pay full price. Asked for fountain drink, apparently that was not working so i could only get canned drinks. There was flies everywhere, tables were dirty, bathroom absolutely disgusting, the salt bottle needs to be replaced, it was so nasty and old. The ribs that was meant to feed 2 people was disappointing in quantity, tasted nice, but was enough to feed 1 person. The mix platter was great which is the only reason i am giving a 2 star. There is 1 server that handles the phone, register and food. She was nice and seemed to be struggling. Would be nice if all the food was brought at once, instead we first got a plate with ribs, then a plate with 1 corn, then the mix platter and at last the plate with fries. This place could be great however management needs to improve this...

We’ve been Texas Alaparia customers since it was founded and we understand where this restaurant came from and how the Texas Alaparia taste is supposed to be. Unfortunately, with the latest change in Management the food has gone extremely backwards. The famous peanut sauce is no longer flavorful and seems watered down. The food isn’t properly seasoned and the portions have been reduced while the prices have gone up. The famous funchi was also served unsalted and the slices were thick. Not a good experience.

Overall I think the new ownership have made changes to reflect in higher profits while giving the end customer a pretty disappointing experience.

Given that I can purchase most of these dishes at a truckipan for a lot cheaper while also being more delicious, I find myself perplexed how such a great grill has gone...
