We stumbled upon this cute cafe on our way back home. Their coffee and chai selection are nice, their brownies are very delicious. Place is neat with a simple decoration.

But the best part is the service! The staff is so nice and warm. I loved it how they still wanted to talk with us in English even though they were not fully feeling comfortable. And they did a great job with it! Great job for the people who have come up with the idea and who are...

We spontaneously popped into this café in search of a sweet snack. We got a seat straight away and browsed through the menu. After the food arrived, a member of staff spontaneously told me which brownies and blondies were on my mixed platter. Super friendly! We loved the concept, the drinks and the food there. We'd love to go again! :)

Een tegenvaller... het enige wat goed was zat vanuit de fabriek in een flesje. De standaard chocolade brownie was gortdroog. De appeltaart was een vierkantje kleiner dan een brownie en ook droog. Als je thee kiest is er de keuze uit zes soorten, behalve normale thee. En als je een paar foto's maakt van het interieur wordt op een onvriendelijke manier een verklaring gevraagd waarom je het doet... Dat is ook helemaal niet hoe ik de bedrijfsformule ken en de ervaring die ik heb met andere filialen. Voorheen zat het ook in Den Haag en Delft, dat heet inmiddels Upside café en daar zijn we altijd zeer hartelijk ontvangen en is het gebak van goede kwaliteit. We komen zeker nog een keer terug in Deventer, maar zeker niet bij Brownies en Downies. Wat een teleurstelling.
