The food here is always amazing, no matter what I order. Today's dinner, "Barbanitas", was was just as tasty, and so were the "gambas moradas" (I need a recipe, pleasee) we had as appetizers.

The Gambas Moradas were €10. A couple gambas in a tasty spicy sauce with two big pieces of fresh bread. Absolutely delicious! Sadly, I forgot to take a picture of this dish so I cannot show you.

The Babanitas were also really good and cost €19. It's a beef and lamb barbacoa with chorizo pork, frijoles (fried beans), corn, bellpeper, jalapeno peppers and loads of cheese. Topped with some guacamole and crème frêche. Served with a separate bowl of rice. (As seen in the picture.)

I would've ordered the churros for dessert but I was stuffed haha.

The staff has always been friendly here.

Today, service was slower than I'm used to here but it was also just really really busy.

For the ladies: in the bathroom there's tampons, deodorant, hair spray, hair mousse and perfume :)

I can't speak on...

Food was pretty good, but service left something to be desired. It took a little long for service to take our orders. Finally, they have a gluten free menu which is good, but unfortunately there are no vegetarian options on the gluten free menu. Since my sister is a coeliac and vegetarian we tried to discuss a vegetarian gluten free option with the staff, and while they definitely tried the end result was lackluster. Just some tortilla with some raw veggies. No beans, rice, spices. They charged us almost full price for this.

In short: the knowledge and will to help coeliac is there, bit maybe due to the fact that it was busy the end result left something to be desired for my sister.

EDIT: after comparing to restaurant in Groningen, also Mexican, I think in comparison my experience here was worth...

The food is great, although nothing exceptional. It provides a few options to get hands on authentic Mexican experience. The experience, though, could have been better. The filet was a bit burned from the bottom, and the waiting time for food was almost an hour. The staff was very kind, but because of the restaurant being so busy, waiting for a desert card took them long, too. All in all, this is a great place to get Mexican food on non-busy days. But for a great culinary experience, even when it comes to steaks, burgers or spareribs, look elsewhere.

Last visited March 2025. It is best to make a reservation. Rather busy on this Saturday night. Allocated a good table near the window. Service was great, friendly and helpful. Shared mixed starter was good to start off. Both ordered the ribs. Had to check on this as there was a delay for this. This could be the reason why it was a little dry. So average ribs, possibly go for something else hence the 3-star rating for food.
