Sri Ganesh Authentiek Indiaas & Sri Lankaans Restaurant 🇮🇳 — Restaurant in Eindhoven

Atmosphere: Silent start to the evening with three tables full around 19:00. No music on the background makes you fairly conscious of your surroundings. When the restaurant becomes full this changes for the better. Lighting needs some attention, fairly dark colours one wouldn't associate with Indian food, flickering lights also distract. Food: We decided on Menu 1 and 2. The starters, sambar vodai and a samosa, were both cold. Icy on the inside, suggests frozen to begin with. Reheated after a remark, and came back much better and tasty. As this is the start of the meal, this is when expectations are high.... Fried aloo bhaji, tarka dal, veg.curry, were all fine. Spicy, but accessible for the locals. The rice on the side was good too, a bit cold however. Biryani and masala dosai, came in later after we finished the first 4 or 5 dishes. I'm not sure this was deliberate to spread out the dishes or because of bad timing in the kitchen. It was getting busy too.

Tip:Clear communication about how dishes are served (when what why) and whats special about them would be something the waiter could work on. No onion salad was served, yet it was on the menu, and the naan bread was great.

Overall: this restaurant has great potential in Eindhoven with all the internationals. In fact you should invite them over to talk about what they would like to see on the menu. And ask for help with regard to what can be improved. It would be wise for the restaurant to focus all their capabilities and present a menu with a limited choice. Most locals don't know much about all the Indian recipes anyway. If the quality of the food and prep would increase with having just three starters, three main courses and three deserts (if possible), then do just that! You can always change it every month. This would make preparations easy, fresh and plan-able by the kitchen. This would also make it easier for the service to talk about.

I left a bit disappointed. Will check back next year to see how things have changed. Stiff competition in Eindhoven with regard to Indian food. Perhaps the restaurant should check with them how they can...

Actually I don’t want to give any stars for them, bec. it was a horrible evening for us yesterday 11.03.23 . We asked for a table she told they are busy, but in 10 min we should come back, so we gone inside after 10 min. We sat and we waited 15-20 min nobody came and asked even what you want to drink. After a while someone came and took our orders, we was 9 people. The reason why she came is WE ARE BUSY. She took our orders and the drinks too. We ordered 3 coffee too but our starters came but after 1 hr still the coffee didn’t came. The main course for 4 peoples came, the other once was waiting and waiting in the hope their food will also come. We also patiently waited but the 2 Lady’s was just standing laughing and was talking, not even clean the other tables, but their reason is WE ARE BUSY. After a long time we gone and asked where is the rest of the order? The one Lady told I’m sorry we forgot the rest of the orders, we felt like are you kidding us? We canceled the other orders bec. it was outrageous. At the counter they wanted to calculate everything but we rechecked the bills again, her silly reply was WE WAS BUSY, if u feel you are busy then why you are taking customers? You should tell we are fully booked if you can’t handle this. Actually for your service we should not pay, we came as a family bigot was a horrible dinner. NEVER EVER AGAIN...

Review:

Visiting Sri Ganesh on a Friday evening, we were surprised by the lack of customers, which should have been an early indication of what awaited us. Our order consisted of mango lassi, paneer dosa, paneer kofta gravy, and plain naan.

Unfortunately, service was slow and unattentive, with our mango lassi taking over 20 minutes to arrive. Staff members were frequently absent from the dining area, forcing us to knock on the kitchen door to inquire about our meal.

When the food was finally served, the quality left much to be desired. The paneer dosa lacked flavor, and its accompanying side dishes were undercooked. The naan, expected to be a traditional Indian bread, resembled a completely different type of bread. Additionally, the paneer kofta gravy was devoid of paneer.

In summary, our experience at Sri Ganesh was marred by slow service and subpar food quality. Regrettably, we cannot recommend this establishment and suggest potential diners look elsewhere for a...
