Menu consists of "journey" and appetizers. So you cannot choose what you will eat, if you don't come just for drinks. Serve is slow: 90 minutes for the "journey". And I am not exaggerating, because I booked a table for a specific time, and I was at the restaurant at that time. Portions are small, but enough to feel sated, yet be ready that you might feel still hungry for an hour while last 3 meals are being served. The whole "journey" consist of 9 meals: 3 appetizers, 3 semi-main dishes and 3 more main. Thus, the question arises: if kitchen knows that on average customer will order the "journey", how can it take so long to be served? And, on the same page, why the price for a meal (those 9 dishes sum up to a one average dish in other restaurants) is two times the average (the "journey" costs 45€ per person + drinks) when, again, each customer will order the same "journey", as if it was a canteen. Out of 9 dishes, I personally consider to be above average only 3. Wouldn't recommend, won't be visiting again.
P.S. I also felt as if such a long waiting time was made on purpose, because of how insisting proposition of an additional drink felt from the waitress. And even soft drinks there start from 5€.
P.P.S. And all that "experience" confetti that is thrown at you when they don't even tell you what are those 9 dishes from the "journey", is actually just a simple description of the dishes, which is usually contained in the menu. Don't...
Read moreUpon entering, the waiters and waitresses are very nice and kind... they recommended us to try the culinary reis... there are three dishes but small portions which I would say are not really from Latin America... (chorizo and empanas) the only thing from Latin America and it is very sad to sit for 2 and a half hours to eat small portions which left me hungry, they were served cold.. very sad because we expected to eat food from our country or something similar to what we know... a bit disappointing and even worse when You leave thinking of where to go to eat!! the only good thing about the place is the staff… but the food is not recommendable to eat there if you want something latino or if...
Read moreCarlina’s is a cozy place, with a friendly staff in general. To us, food was more interesting in the beginning when the restaurant was just opened. The ‘journey’ feels like a forced menu. The A la cart option has been removed unfortunately, and not for the better. That makes it very limited. The prizes are way too high for what you get. The drinks are actually very nice.
In the 5-course menu it said that it includes a drink, but according to the waitress, it was a “recommendation to take a drink with the menu”.. which didn’t make sense to us (considering the price). We spend €209 for two people. That feels way too much for...
