We have eaten this restaurant/pub in the Grote Markt every time we have come to Groningen. We have family living in this lively university town in the North of Groningen province. The spare ribs (see photo) are the best I have tasted anywhere on my travels (including Ibiza and London). The atmosphere is lively and friendly, with good music and bright bubbly conversation - friends and families enjoying each other's company. There is a good selection of food, wine and beer and the decor is beautiful- with soft 'leather' seats, booths, and a long long table in the middle as well as lots of tables for when the weather is good enough. If you are fortunate enough to spend some time in this lovely historical town please treat yourself to a visit to De Drie Gezusters for a coffee, a beer or a meal. You will be glad you did

Loved our experience there. We heard it was a very popular gigantic place and it did not disappoint. I guess the problem related to that was that it took us forever to locate some vacant seats. And we sat conveniently by the pianist, as if we listened to a VIP performance. I felt bad for the pianist briefly when some loud women started shouting (out of excitement) right in front of him. Luckily some waitress came to our rescue and calmed those women down. Everything else was okay. The tea water could’ve been fuller. But other than that, pretty standard service.

Elegant central location with panoramic terrace and infrared heating. Very kind staff The sharp cutlery was changed and I was not very happy. On sunny days you can choose between a place in the sun or in the shade. Thanks to the plexiglass screen, you are not disturbed by passing traffic and pedestrians. The tables and chairs were very close to each other for a sociable atmosphere. A basic menu with a good kitchen, for the culinary preparations Schengen agreement of friendship maximum 4 stars!

Die "drei Schwestern" ... Ist auf jeden Fall eine Anlaufstelle wenn man in Groningen ist. Wir haben zu Mittag versucht und etwas zu essen zu bestellen. Das ging ganz schön schwer.... Leider war es mit der Verständigung nicht so einfach was dann auch zu Missverständnissen geführt hat. Zuerst haben wir versucht das Liste zu studieren... Bis ich dann irgendwann die online Version gefunden habe in unserer Sprache. Dort leider mit einigen Hindernissen endlich etwas gefunden was man nehmen könnte. Leider steht weder im Original noch in der Übersetzung genau drin was man bestellt. Sehr schade. Am Essen gab es dann nichts auszusetzen, war sehr lecker und tatsächlich zu empfehlen. Und großes, sagen wir mal "Problem" es gab Live-Musik, dagegen ist nichts einzuwenden, aber in einer Lautstärke als wäre man in einer Diskothek DIREKT an der Box .... Viel viel viel zu laut. Dazu kam, das auf dem Marktplatz (zumindest scheint es so etwas zu sein) noch eine weitere Party stattfand mit anderer Musik mindestens genauso laut. Also nichts mit entspanntem Ambiente... Sondern eher nach von alles Seiten. Sehr schade. Das passt nicht ganz, macht alles irgendwie kaputt. Die Live-Musik (ein Klavierspieler mit Verstärker) hätte völlig gereicht wenn wer die Anlage nicht bis zum Maximum aufgerissen hätte.

Very nice place to be. Awesome ambiece in all three sections. Large card for food and drinks, especially beers! But: We had burgers, which were not matching the price and missing spices. Restroom for men are an absolute eyecatcher, restroom for women should have an update very soon. Some of the staff did not care about the customers, but spend their time talking to each other instead...

Toch wel een monument aan de Grote Markt in Groningen. In mijn jeugd (jaren 90) vele malen op vrijdagmiddag geweest (draaibar/skihut achterin was toen populair/bestaat helaas niet meer). Tegenwoordig is het een soort van grand café met een groot terras aan de Grote Markt (uitzicht op de Olle Grieze). De menukaart is klein en eenvoudig. Ik had een carpaccio als voorgerecht en kipsaté als hoofdgerecht. Beide gerechten waren prima.
