McDonald's Groningen Sontplein — Restaurant in Groningen

Same as every other McDonalds in the Netherlands. Usually just fine. Sometimes you get food that's not very fresh. For example, I often order mcnuggets in 9-size portions, because then they make them fresh. the 6-size portions they usually pre-make so can sometimes be luke-warm and a bit stale.

If you want to do a quick bite (don't go in the restaurant but use drive-through and eat in the car) there's plenty free parking, either in front of the door, or the larger parking lots just outside (1st hour free).

Drawback: sometimes they need a bit more time to prep your food and you may need to wait a few minutes at the designated parking spots. They will bring it to your car. Not a big problem, but at late hours, the staff doesn't go outside anymore and you have to walk up to the window to pick it up when a light turns on. Usually this is not very practical when other cars are waiting at the window. They should solve this situation.

And beware: this branch is known to mess up orders a bit now and then at the drive-through. Make sure you check the food before driving off. My experience is that they get it right at least 80% of the time, so this is my reason for giving them 80% of available stars...

This is the worst McDonalds I’ve ever been to. I’ve never had as HORRIBLE experience in any of the other restaurants in Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Czech Republic, and so on. There were not so many customers around during lunch - that was the first sign that showed that this place is AWFUL. If you consider eating there, please leave. Food was cold, the quality of food was so bad that my first thought was that I’m at the wrong place. Fries were cold, Big Mac was spicy (????), Big Tasty was NOT tasty, and McWrap tasted like paper. Couldn’t find any tissues around - all of the tissue boxes were empty. Every meal looked as if it laid around since 7AM - we were there at 3PM. At least our table was clean and the toilets did not smell as usual, but it is not a reason to pay 13€ for a MEDIUM (??) meal. 2/10 experience, I think I won’t be able to eat in McDonalds again without thinking about this place for a couple...

Great fast service (which isn’t that great considering it’s in the name - FAST food) horrible quality, the only enjoyable moment was actually driving away - only to be ruined at the traffic lights by the excuse of a McFlurry I was served. Triple chocolate? More like triple disappointment. Vanilla ice cream tasted like nothing (Atleast it was cold) the 5 pieces of cookie tasted more like old biscuits and the pathetic dribble of chocolate sauce in the corner of the cup would have starving kids in Africa taking a second guess to eat at your McDonalds.
