We had the vegan 7 course tasting menu. Overall 4* due to amazing customer service, atmosphere, facilities, and food variety. However, having tried other tasting menus around Europe we thought the main course could have been better. It was a cabbage dish with crispy oats on top, but it tasted mostly like boiled cabbage and that’s it. Also, it was a nice experience but quite pricey for the portions we got, so we won’t be returning. But we enjoyed all the other small tasting dishes, the wine recommendation and the happy birthday wishes on the dessert. We had a really enjoyable experience at this restaurant, with excellent service and beautifully presented dishes. We went for the 5-course menu with wine pairings and liked almost everything.

That said, a few dishes could have used a bit more flavor in my opinion. The lamb was definitely my favorite—cooked perfectly and really delicious. The amuse-bouche, though, wasn’t quite my thing. Starting the meal with wasabi ice cream felt a bit odd.

It’s fine dining, so the prices reflect that, but if you’re into that kind of experience, I’d say it’s worth...

Afgelopen weekend genoten wij van een onvergetelijke avond bij restaurant Blumé in Groningen. Vanaf het moment dat we binnenkwamen, viel op hoe gastvrij en professioneel het personeel was. De sfeer is ontspannen en stijlvol, en we werden meteen op ons gemak gesteld.

De gerechten die we geserveerd kregen, waren stuk voor stuk prachtig opgemaakt en tot in de puntjes verzorgd. Niet alleen visueel indrukwekkend, maar ook qua smaak zeer verfijnd. Elk bord was een kleine verrassing, met aandacht voor detail en een mooie balans van ingrediënten.

Een bijzonder leuk element van de avond was het moment waarop de chef zelf aan tafel kwam. Dat persoonlijke contact gaf een extra dimensie aan de ervaring; het is mooi om te zien hoe betrokken en gepassioneerd er gekookt wordt.

Ook de sommelier verdient een speciale vermelding: met veel kennis en enthousiasme vertelde hij over de zorgvuldig gekozen wijnen. De combinaties met de gerechten waren perfect afgestemd en gaven de avond een extra gelaagdheid.

Als klein aandachtspunt willen we meegeven dat het vrij warm was in het restaurant. Dit deed gelukkig weinig af aan de totale ervaring, maar wat extra ventilatie zou het nog aangenamer maken.
