I am an erasmus student so have only had the pleasure of one year shopping every week at nazar but this is probably the one thing I will miss most about the city! I am yet to find a butcher as extensive as the one in this store, with a wide selection of fresh cuts of meat and extremely helpful staff. Everything you could possibly need it available in this shop with very specific ingredients to Turkish and other middle eastern and North African dishes that are usually so hard to find (particularly where I am from in the UK). The staff are always ready to help you and make you feel comfortable asking, even in English, which can be intimidating for international shoppers anywhere at first. I used to like this market and have been shopping here for four years. But recently the butcher section has gone downhill. Prices are higher, and the staff are SO CARELESS. I once asked for a whole chicken, but they gave me a chicken leg, just quickly labeled and packed it, and then insisted that’s what I ordered.
