Restaurant Pand 13 — Restaurant in Haarlem

The evening started out nice Saturday September 13th., meeting with my sisters and friends for some wine and cocktails, it was even my idea to go to Pand13 because they serve good wine. Let me start to say that we have come here very often. Even last week. There is a relatively new woman working Klaasje and a young man whom I didn’t catch his name. By the time we did spent a lot of money (nearly €300,- for just 4 people) and were forced to sit outside because they had a party going on. We were having a good time and at some point the waitress Klaasje and the young man suddenly without any warning refused to serve us any more drinks, we ordered bottles of wine and cocktails. We repeatedly had to ask for service. The drinks didn’t come. So we asked why?? No reason we just didn’t get more drinks, the young man said. No reason, nothing. So we said just bring us the bill right away. We did pay and left. Even though we have been here many times before and always left a good tip we didn’t do that this time. You could tell from the beginning that Klaasje had no interest in giving us any service. Later when the young man arrived we experienced the same treatment from him. If we have done something wrong we were not aware of and not told anything about this, we still don’t know. It’s a total disgrace especially because we always have appreciated the service there from the owner Linda. And did give good tips for the service. Apparently when the owners are not around the service staff thinks they can decide not to serve us and be very unpleasant and rude from the beginning. Especially Klaasje..! For a spontaneous after work dinner decided to visit this restaurant as its located close to central station (less than 10 min walking). Moreover, it was the only note worthy Burgundian restaurant in the area. Table for 2 was easily reserved by kind staff. Upon arrival the restaurant appeared rather dark almost no lighting. We were appointed a table with decent hospitality (but prefered not to speak english). The menu offered some variety and looked tasty. Ordered their tenderloin with seasonal veggies. It was simple, tasty and sufficiently balanced in ingredients. On a detailed note, I doubt the freshness of the meat. Portion was satisfyingly sufficient. My dining partner however was not so positive about the pand-13 burger. Burger texture was mushy with zero bite and the tartaarsauce had an unpleasant spicy hotness. The bun wasnt crispy enough for her liking. Flavours differ, true true, and it might be too critical but ey she was hungry but still left half of the burger on her plate end of the evening.

Price was normal; not cheap but not overpriced either. Food quality was decent.

Saturday September 13, 2025.. I have never experienced such rude and unpleasant service in my live with just a simple dining place. Staff was more interested in talking to each other than serving drinks. The young women Klaasje a very unpleasant and egocentric waitress and a guy with also an unpleasant attitude. Out of the bleu we didn't get any more service. We did spent quite some money but at 20:15 hours suddenly we didn't get any more drinks. Staff was to busy with themselves. We repeatedly had to ask for our drinks and snacks. We life in Haarlem we have been here before. But never again... There are many many other nice places where you can spent your money. When the owners are not around the service drops down to a 0... Not even 1 star but 0 stars. Before when the owner was around we didn't experienced this kind...
