Cavallaro Hotel — Hotel in Haarlem

As everyone have said in their reviews, communication with the hotel staff was through WhatsApp but that didn’t detract from my experience. They were very responsive and proactive in coordinating to ensure my stay was as comfortable as possible, more-so than traditional in-hotel staff.

The room itself was very enjoyable to use and all the small luxurious details were appreciated (the heavy glass cups, the soft plush towels and robes, the fresh flowers, etc). There’s only four rooms in this hotel so I would highly recommend it if you are able to snag a room. You do need to note though, that the stairway at the entrance is rather narrow. Since it’s covered by plush carpeting, I found it to be no issue but those with mobility issues will need to take it into consideration.

Great location. Stylish room but not functional at all: Never have seen such a small shower! Was maybe 50x60, really really tiny. Easy to push door open accidentally without noticing and setting the bathroom under water. No hooks to hang on wet towels, only a bar underneath the sloping roof (not very comfortable to reack), no hook next to the wash basin to hang a towel. No reception available, online check in only (which was not very clear when I booked the room and within the confirmation). And a lot confusion about how to check in. I did not receive their mails (not in spam either). Did not receive a SMS. Took us precious holiday time to get access...

Loved your property and our room, #2. Stairs are a little daunting to be sure.

The best, I repeat the BEST aspect of your operation is the magnificent "Vanessa". Polite, professional, extremely cordial and competent. I think she needs a significant (25% raise) and two more weeks of paid vacation than she is now getting. (She never asked me to "rate" the hotel or her, of course!)

I'll spread the word among my many, many friends in the AI center of the world, San Francisco, that your chic hotel--very "walkable" and well located is the ONLY place to stay in the charming city of Haarlem!
