This is a small place with no frills... We were rushing to a museum and trying to see 2museums close to each other before they closed at 17.00. Hubby was hungry, it was 13.30 & as we walked past I realised I'd never tried Indonesian food before and I love trying the cuisine of different countries. We opted for rice with vegetable side dishes as I'm a vegetarian and after my first bite I was in awe of the wonderful flavours!! Amazing food and we were served by a lovely young man who was managing the till and other orders at the same time. Took time to explain what was in each dish. Even hubby who had meat dishes and some veg said it was the best indonesian food he'd tasted outside of Indonesia, which is very high praise coming from him. Read moreTasty Rames. I ordered witte rice (I guess it was Nasi uduk - cooked with coconut rice), bakmi, ayam kari, rendang, and vegetables. Nice warung, finally drink teh botol sosro after awhile. The food tends to be too sweet for me. What distinguishes this warung with others is that they provide free flow condiments and this is really Indonesia typical, such as kerupuk (crackers), palm sugar, sambal, spicy sauce and soy sauce. The benches in front of and in the side of the place are really typical Indonesian warung. We also bought some delicious snacks, such as pisang goreng, martabak and lemper.
