He makes a point of using local produce of best quality and he cuts it in such a way that you will never be stuck with tiny burnt pieces of fries on the bottom of your cone. I say this because as I write this I am sitting in a bar in Stockholm, Sweden eating some very generic fries and genuinely contemplating taking a train from the city, walk to the shuttle bus stop, bus to the airport, flight to Amsterdam, train to Leiden, and then a home stretch walk to go get some of the best satay sauce and fries I have ever had.
TL;DR definitely worth an afternoon snack for your day trip to Leiden as you will still be thinking of how good these fries were a year later every time you have...
Read moreThe best fry shop I've been to in the Netherlands so far. The food was incredible, our party got the Indonesian and Korean loaded fries and everything in them tasted so good and fresh. The fries are cut fresh and super crispy, you can really tell the difference between here and the other cafeterias that use frozen poor quality fries.
Plus the atmosphere is really cozy and there's tons of seating, AND the owner came through to ask us how our food was, and was so happy to hear we liked it that he brought us free homemade oliebollen.
