Taratoer — Restaurant in Leiden

I only do reviews when I really love a place. This place is great. I was tired from my travel and the warm welcome and relaxed atmosphere was just what I needed. I felt right at home. Perfect place for lunch, dinner or just a cup of tea with a friend. Only 4 minutes walk from Leiden Lammenschans station. I had dinner with a friend and we tried several dishes. The dishes where fresh with beautiful flavours. I particularly liked the fatteh (please don't forget to eat it directly after serving so the fried bread at the bottom still crunches in your mouth) and the labneh, but I enjoyed every bite of every dish. Amazing experience! Me and friend loved the food and the service! We appreciate the coffee from the host and loved the vibe of the restaurant. Taratoer also has a very small shop with products from Lebanon and post cards which are being sold. We did not buy it but maybe next time!

Also, maybe invest more in the interior itself. It feels a bit too 'empty' for a Lebanese restaurant/shop. We would love to see more artwork, paintings to give the vibe that I am in the middle of Beirut or Jbeil. Maybe add a nice carpet or invest in some good chairs and tables? Had a really great meal here! Tried three different wraps and the wine leaves and everything was just amazing. We were planning on another visit the next day, but sadly a hangover stopped that from happening..
