Changing my review to 1 star, please note thar this review concerns the Dutch speciality way of preparing Herring only.

After lots of positive experiences, suddenly one of the women in charge would not prepare the herring fresh for me. This means that the herring could be lying in the shop for hours instead of the "5 minutes" that is the standard answer of every mediocre fishmonger. You have to know that this greatly affects the taste and consistency of the herring (among other factors like how they defrost the unprepared herring).

A good fishmonger will therefore either always prepare it fresh for you, or at least give you the choice between the premade stuff or the real thing.

After many visits there, apparently my request was too much to ask. This will stop me from ever going there again. Any fish shop that does this, earns an automatic low rating, since a herring should always be cleaned right in...

Great fish and selection. We go there at least once a week to buy fresh fish and lunch. Minus for friendliness. Some employees are super nice but some seem impolite and last time I went one woman seemed getting super annoyed with me for not speaking Dutch and/or not ordering quickly enough. I can't be sure, because I didn't understand her, but it seemed like she made fun of me in Dutch to her colleague right in front of me knowing I wouldn't understand. Hope this won't...

De kibbeling was lekker en de portie ruim. Wel werd de vers gebakken, warme kibbeling gemengd met koude kibbeling van een eerdere ronde — jammer, dat doet af aan de versbeleving.

Wat echter het meest opviel was de sfeer achter de toonbank. Vandaag stonden er twee dames te bedienen, waarvan één zich ronduit onbeschoft gedroeg. Tegen mij was ze nog enigszins beleefd, maar wat ik bij andere klanten zag gebeuren, was niet oké.

Er werd in het Turks gecommuniceerd met een groep klanten — op zich prima, maar als omstander voelde het als een gesloten kring. Eén klant kreeg haar vis letterlijk op de toonbank gesmeten, met de opmerking dat ze het moest pakken. Haar overige bestelling kwam pas daarna. De toon en houding richting haar was onvriendelijk en ongemakkelijk om te zien.

Ik kwam hier vroeger graag, maar vandaag was de ervaring helaas ver beneden het niveau dat...
