I hated this place, it could have been the worst eating out experience of my life. I went there during my holidays, while I was visiting my friends in Nijmegen with another friend that was visiting the city for the first time. My friends advised this place and we ordered lunch here. I ordered something called ossenworst with another one, which apparently included absolute raw meat in nearly minced form, that I was not informed or asked about before at all. They heard us speaking English, knew I was not Dutch and didn’t even bother asking. I also know worst means sausage but I only ordered it because below the name, the ingredients did not mention anything like that, it only mentioned eggs. If the food also includes meat, you need to write it on the menu below the food name, and also what kind of meat it includes. It’s not okay to just write eggs there and leave the responsibility to the customers. Women can be pregnant as well and eating raw meat is incredibly risky for them, it is the responsibility of the restaurant to make sure this does not happen. When I asked the waitress she said ossenworst is always made with raw meat (wrong, it can be smoked meat as well) and told me there is nothing to do if I cannot eat it, so it was my responsibility that I ordered something that was not clearly described to me on the menu or by the waitresses. I told her at least 3 times that I did not want to pay for something I was not well informed about and the only thing she accepted was me ordering another lunch and charging me €6 or so extra. The excuse was that they used the products. I’m sorry but those products do not even cost 6 euros. Profiting from your mistake is nowhere near hospitality. I paid more than €20 in the end, was forced to pay the extra for their mistake while I should have been served extra normally (?!) When I told the waitress about my allergies before the serving she also just stared at my face rudely like I said something unnecessary to her, did not respond at all. My friend was also very dissatisfied with the service. I like Nijmegen but this place was such a disappointment. Definitely not recommended. Spare yourself the rudeness, you cannot expect any...
Read moreIt was good café always. Before they were more active and fresh. Now I can clearly see that Corona time get hard on them. Bit less good stuff, and bit less care, but I hope they will be back on old Fika set-up. Love that inside office space and really nice small outside seats. Love the food here, love the coffee, and place. Ice coffee is the best. And they are improving a lot. I wrote review 1 year ago and they are already picking up better and doing goodm Price are similar to all price in Nijmegen and that is 3-4 e for coffee, cake 5 e. Love this place, love the atmosphere and hope they will bring back...
